Do you ever think of all the places you dream of going but don’t know if you ever will go to most of them?

I could afford to travel now. I would prefer to do it with someone else though. just now I had a show on TV about this luxury train 9’ Kyushu. I mean the odds are I’ll never set foot on that island. Even if I go to Japan, it’ll probably be on Honshu.. But it looks interesting…

I was 22, working as a bartender, talking to a customer about travel, all the places I wanted to go. He started talking about how he had all these places he had wanted to go as well when he was my age. I asked him where he had gone, and he said he hadn't gone anywhere. I got scared at that, and started to really be concerned my life would go by without travel.

About 10 years later, I had spent around 4 years cumulatively (almost half the time!) traveling internationally. I really went all out, would be gone for months at a time, and enjoyed so much of the world. I don't think I'm done traveling by any means, but to be honest, I could die tomorrow satisfied with how many places I've been and all the adventures I've had already; it's been more than enough for several lifetimes.

Yeah, well I've already visited several of my bucketlist countries. Countries are easy to do, specific places are much harder. Like it's unlikely I'll ever visit the Marqueses or Nan Madol just because they're so difficult to get to, but I'm never saying never. North Sentinel Island is highly unlikely for obvious reasons. Algeria is also questionable unless they implement a Visa regime change.

I already know I won't visit every specific place I'd like to visit, as that's impossible, but countries/states I should be able to, even though some will be quite difficult.
