I was against it before, but I’d do it 😁👍.
I’d keep eyes on it, and if it became active or eruptive, I would have simply swam and floated far enough for the lava to cool down. Maybe have a small water cabin 🛖. Then just wait for the lava to cool. It supposedly helps the soil? 🤷♀️
Makes me think of the movie, ‘The Incredibles.’ I’m addicted to its power 😍🤤 🌋.
(Too bad the people of Pompeii couldn’t swim or have a small alternative. Seeing a volcano of that size.. I’d want to be somewhat close to a body of water.. lol).

You do know how far out you would have to be? And even then that's an estimated amount depending on it's output and flow so you couldn't be exactly sure and trust me it's further than you could swim.
The lava when it hits the sea it will not just stop or cause only heat there, the heat then spreads out. It can expand over a grand area.

Why?
I'm very introverted and do my stuff inside so it wouldn't be any use for me to live on a beautiful island when I don't go out really anyway. So would be a pointless risk.
Though if I really wanted to live on one a Volcano ain't gonna stop me. I would imagine half the reason it's so beautiful there is due to it.10 Reply

+1 yI always wonder why people stay in places where natural disasters strike all the time. Homes are destroyed, life is lost. Then its about the how some people 1. Don't have idea about disaster prone ratings 2. Don't have enough money to move elsewhere 3. Don't want to leave the place they have already lived for so long.
But never thought someone would think of living in that area just because it's beautiful.
I would certainly not If I have chances to live elsewhere safely.11 Reply- +1 y
I know right, hurricane destroys hundreds of homes, lets rebuild them right in the same spot.
No. That's stupid. I wouldn't live over a fault line either. Seismic activity is going to already has been increasing due to our current solar cycle and increasing sunspots.
