Have you ever gotten a ticket before and for what?

Yup. Usually speeding. Woopsie doodles. I did deseve them as they taught me to slow tf down. Otherwise, the cops don't bother me unless it was that time I was sitting at my old job. I saw them coming and dipped because they could find out my tags were way expired and be suspicious of a thing. Well they found out, but they thought i was a drug dealer because that was the hive for it. My old. Job. :)
Oh yeah, one was because my truck was old so I was using my hands to signal. Cop still wrote me up also for a broken rear light. Judge took a shi on that and just made me to defensive classes. So instead of going to jail, I just got a few life lessons.
No, I always flirt with the 👮♀️ cop and they give me an oral warning
Would you ever go further than flirting to get out of a ticket 🎫
Woah 😳
Now I do

Mine is interesting.. so in 2021 I got pulled over going 60 in a 45, tags expired from 2019, license suspended, no insurance. I was in a college kid budget rut at the time. That day my car ran out of gas and I started a new job so I had to ask my manager to drive me to get gas which was absolutely embarrassing because I couldn’t even afford the gas can, they were nice enough to buy for me. I was super stressed and decided to take a little drive near my home. I Got pulled over (only my second time being pulled over in my life) by a reservation cop, which is basically a cop under the jurisdiction of a Native American reservation instead of the city. Going 20 over the speed limit is pretty normal everywhere but these reservations so it can be tricky.
The minute he walked up, I was in absolute tears. I was literally so distressed about my day the officer asked me if I was on drugs.. lol. I told him about my day and he continued to question me on why I wasn’t headed home, I told him when I was stressed I take drives, which I do. Of course he didn’t believe me because I was absolutely hysterical. So.. I believe the cop actually felt bad for me, but he did still search my vehicle and told me if he finds nothing I’m free to go, with no mention of nothing I have expired. I honestly felt super grateful he let me off I was literally having one of the worst days of my life and he could have towed my vehicle that day. Of course, got all of that fixed because things can’t always go that smoothly lol.
I got my license in 1970 when I was 16. Over the next 10 years or so I got lots of speeding tickets. At one point, I had 12 in three years and finally got a letter from the DMV saying that if I got any more than that in a three year period my license would be suspended.
Back then, all you had to do was pay the fine. I don't think it was until things started going electronic that insurance companies were able to have access to driver's records and started raising insurance rates on people with violations on their records.
After 1980, I had a field job and drove a company car 24/7. If I got a ticket, the company got pissed. So I toned it way down.
I still got several tickets over the years, but they were few and far between. And I would often opt for driving school in order to get the ticket off my record.
I've only gotten one ticket in the last 12 years. That on was on a highway one night that is posted 65 but changes to 55 in one stretch. I was going 70 in the 65 mph zone but didn't notice the 55 mph sign and continued driving 70. No one else was on the highway and the road was as straight as an arrow, so I was being safe. But a cop had the area staked out for a speed trap and got me.
I've only ever gotten one ticket in my life (so far) and I opted to fight it in court, which I had to wait 8 months for the trial, and it was worth it. The cop never showed up and the judge dismissed the ticket.
Some people will tell you to just pay the ticket and acknowledge the guilt. Don't do it. If you do you're saying Yes to the conviction, and you can get significant consequences for a driving conviction even if it's your first offense. Your insurance will go up and the conviction will stay on your record for a few years, and that's not worth it. Even if your insurance only goes up like 10%, you still don't want an increase.
Always try to fight your ticket in court. And take the driver refresher course which helps you look better to the judge, especially if it's not your first time getting a ticket. You could get lucky and the cop doesn't show (depending on your state, in some states cops are required to show up in court) or you just never know if the judge decides to cut you a break.
I have a ton of tickets in the past, but maybe only like 2 or 3 for speeding, when I was much younger. The rest are all for not having my car inspected on time. Seems kind of garbage to me, because often I’d get the car inspected eventually and everything was fine, so it’s not like I was driving an unsafe car in reality. Or if I got the car inspected, something could go on it right afterwards that it wouldn’t pass inspection, but I could theoretically drive for another year before it got discovered.
So the whole thing seems very arbitrary to me, maybe with *some* measure of concern over safety, but let’s be real…this is mostly just so the state can charge an extra $30 to every car owner every year and rake in millions of dollars. I’m not going to drive an unsafe car, FOR MY OWN SAKE, let alone everyone else’s. Maybe others will, I don’t know, but that’s life, we can’t always just be protected from bad things happening to us.
Furthermore, police seem to like to have minor infractions that they can pull you over and basically just “check you out” if they want to, under the guise of the initial minor infraction. My biggest priority in life is avoiding any and all interactions with law enforcement while still doing whatever the fuck I feel like, and it always will be, so that’s the only reason I even consider the inspection sticker.
I got a ticket for parking too close to a fire hydrant. (Parking ticket)
You know... wished someone somewhere could've told me that parking within 40 feet of one of those things will cost $90.00. Like for reals... I wouldn't have even done that shit if I knew that. It wasn't on the test... I have Japanese and American licenses... if I ever read anything about it... IT WASN'T FUCKING THERE. But surprise mother fucker now pay me money! Yeah... why am I thinking they just do that on purpose?
I'm 40 and that's about all I've got busted for. I run over homeless people and shoot bicyclists for fun though... while I'm drunk. (Joking... my inner troll is wanting to troll again)
I was going through a city in a different state, and the traffic lights don't stay yellow for long. The light turned red before I got into the intersection and I got a ticket. I was going through that city years later and I was approaching that SAME intersection and the light turned yellow. I jammed on my brakes! Funny that it was the actual same intersection. But all of them in that town have short yellow lights.
Ironically, reckless driving for doing donuts on private property because we might of hurt ourselves. One of the very few things they can ticket for on private property. It was thrown out later, since the property owner had no objection to it.
Then speeding for going 26 in a 25.
Nope, I should have tho, I was swerving traffic once and accidentally cut off a cop, she told me it's okay to run if I want to speed but to respect cops, I told her I didn't see her and she let me go 🙂
Speeding
Failure to Yield (BS charge, nobody was coming)
Disobeying an Officer (Another BS charge. I had a right to drive to a lighted parking lot).
Yeah, speeding. And one citation that ended up being dropped because I accidentally forgot to put my updated insurance card in my wallet.
Not f*cking the police
Nothing too interesting. Just a speeding ticket. Doing 85 in a 60 zone. Was running late for Thanksgiving dinner one year.
Once for driving through a red light but it was the camera and system on the light that noticed it and not an actual cop lol
Just a few for speeding, Marijuana, and not having insurance. I got one in high school for drinking under age, but I got that dismissed
Speeding, reckless driving, passing in a no passing zone, illegal parking, and DUI. All before the age of 21.
Took me 2 years to get my license back lol
(I'm no longer a danger to society. They learned me my lesson real good)
My parents have not been ticketed in over 25 years cause they are experienced drivers now.
I've had two speeding tickets in my 30 years of driving.
Just one. I was speeding in a school zone (I was like 6-10 over the limit).
Speeding ticket. I was going 40 mph down a 30mph road.
Yep. The light that goes to illuminate the license plate was out.
Several for speeding and one once for making an illegal turn.
No I haven't but I rarely drive so it's kind of hard to give me one.
Yeah I got one for going 90 in a 55 speed zone. I just stupid and young at the time. Luckily my lawyer got me out of losing my license I just had to pay a little more money to keep my license.
Obstructing traffic at least 5 times
running red lights ( I can’t see red )
