What was the reason for the trip? Were there multiple drivers?
+1 yI estimate something like 9000-10,000 miles for the longest. I've done several trips over 5K miles.
I've done it alone and with multiple drivers. The reason was just traveling to see things.
Driving from point A to point B just to get there, I've done a whole bunch of trips in the 1000-3000 range.
I've also hitch-hiked an estimated 15,000 miles total. The longest in one trip was around 4000-4500.

+1 yI went on one road trip that I think was around 10 days, give or take. That was the longest single route road trip I went on with another family. I also did 3 week or more vacations in China but I don't count that cause we never spent more than a week in any given city as a family. It was a week in Taiwan, a week in Shanghai, a week in Tian Jin, a week in a vacation city, a week at the city where the funeral was taking place etc...

+1 yLongest was 7 hours to Houston. I wouldn't count that. I’ve always wanted to roadtrip to Vegas or throughout FL. But Vegas is just too hot for that and a 25 hour drive. FL may not be as friendly as i hoped and i heard the traffic is about as bad as Houston and ATL traffic so i’ll likely fly

u +1 yI drove from northeast Florida to Atlanta, then to Birmingham, then to Monroe, Louisiana, then to Phoenix, then to the Grand Canyon, then returned via Gallup, NM, Oklahoma City, Memphis, and finally back to Jacksonville. My then-wife was with me, and I think she drove for two hours one day; otherwise, I did all the driving. It was for pleasure and to visit her family in Atlanta and Phoenix.

+1 yWell I drove from east Texas to LA and then back while going to Vegas, Utah, and Oklahoma. The reason was that I dumped my girlfriend a couple months before sadly and needed to go out west! The day I got back home, I collected my already packed up life and drove to my home state Indiana.

+1 yMe and my best friend went up to West Virginia from South Carolina. The reason was crazy. I can't really say why because I'm embarrassed about it but it was an interesting trip I will say that.
10 ReplyOver 10,000 miles. I don't know... It's just kind of a normal thing in my family to spontaneously "drive up the coast" and explore things by car just because.

00 ReplySt Louis & back, picking up some girl that flew down from Alaska. Each of us took a 10-strip of acid before we left, misspent youth, I was 14.. Not something I'm proud of.. When I was younger I think part of me was looking to die.
