Looks pretty great. I'm a motorcycle rider, so I appreciate the ability to cut between (split) lanes, which is only legal in California AFAIK. It looks like rollerblading has a lot of pros and a few cons to it. Like motorcycle, the biggest con is exposure. If you get in an accident, you haven't much (any) protection aside from a helmet and gloves.
But it looks like traffic is a non-issue for him. At green lights, he rolls through. At red lights, he cuts over to the crosswalk: "POOF! I'm a pedestrian!" then back to the lanes "POOF! I'm a vehicle!". I think this is something bicyclists *try* to do but they are more obtrusive and less agile, so they get in the way a lot. This guy is off on the side when traffic is faster than him, not slowing everyone in a motorized vehicle down the way bicyclists do.
Splitting lanes is a huge come up in traffic. Whether it's in the city streets or on the freeway, being on a motorcycle means I rarely have to drop below 25 mph, and most of the time not below 55, even in freeway stand still traffic. Seems like the rollerblading is an in-city equivalent of that. I was wondering how he can stop suddenly if he's sliding between cars; my understanding is on rollerblades you have to kick out sideways to stop quickly.
Another thing to think about this transportation is gear. If he arrives somewhere for a job interview, he basically has to carry a second set of clothes and have a bag for all his gear: helmet, gloves, blades. I deal with this on my moto a lot: arrive but have to peel off jacket, helmet, pants, gloves. It's not an insurmountable barrier, but it does take some planning.
It would be fun but then it would be bad when one of those crazy cab drivers runs you over.
Never seen streets in New York that empty, ever!. I wouldn't go in and out of traffic like that unless I had a death wish. He just blew through traffic lights. How fast was he "really" going? If he was going as fast as it looked like there is no way to stop in an emergency. His Epitaph would be:
I think it's good because it keeps you moving, but it may be a little dangerous because you have to keep moving I don't know for the most part it's good mode of transportation.

It's a good way to get around. I think the fish-eye lens makes it look like he's going faster than it would feel in real life.
Seems pretty dangerous, and it wouldn't mix well with snow, but I'm sure it's a lot of fun to get around that way
No problem with the mode but how you use them could be the problem.
im trying to be more broadminded so i'll ignore my first thought that a guy making youtubes about rollerskates brought to mind. QUEERSTREET.
