What comes to your mind when you hear the word “Shanghai”?

I remember in the past, I thought it was a far away exotic place and I would never picture myself living here ever. It’s so weird I ended up living here.

I visited 2002 and stayed 1 week in Fudan/Shanghai university. It’s a big city with lots of good foods, old charms and new build city with some old European buildings. I like Shanghai charm and history.
but I am not going back next summer when we travel, to crowed … I do want to take my family to SuZhou…. still in the process of planning our trip.

SuZhou is definitely worth it! It’s a paradise.

I took a cruise down the 3 gorges before they finished building the dam and flooded many of the old villages. I would like to take my family as well now that my kids are older and appreciate history more.

I visited Shanghai 3 years ago, when everyone rode bicycles and there were few cars, and only 3 Western hotels. It was a fun and interesting time. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't recognize Shanghai if I visited today.
