I know bears are dangerous and you should never feed them or leave food around for them, and you should never approach the cubs because mumma bear is close by and will kill you! but other than this, what other advice would you give to a non-American visiting whose dream it has always been to see such animals in the wild!
is it true with black bears, you make a lot of noise and try and appear bigger than you are, and with brown bears you have to play dead? What do you do if are walking and a cub appears?

Wolves you’ll probably never get anywhere close enough to see. Very timid around humans, cover huge home ranges and move very quickly.
Black bears are just big wimps unless cornered or sick and starving. I’ve stumbled into bears with cubs a few times, every time momma fucked off and left the cubs sitting there confused.
And grizzlies you’ll also probably never see, I spend basically every other weekend in prime grizzly country and I’ve only ever seen 2. If you do see one stay as far away as possible, if you end up close to one stay calm, don’t turn your back, and pray.
Find a reputable tour guide in a national park and always remember no matter how tame they look, they are apex predators
