To be honest, I wouldn't be going there only and solely to meet them. I have plans on staying in a nearby town from them to go zip lining and I'd also book my own accommodations.
I just thought I could kill two birds with a stone by doing this but now I'm also wondering if that's too much or not.
Why would be desperate? In a train you can see stuff, enjoy the view, interract with other people, I Love Train, as in the plane? feels like i`m a coffin, cannot stretch, cannot talk to anyone as its "too loud", you cannot see stuff, just the sky/clouds...
It isn't necessarily desperate but it also isn't necessarily safe!
Be very VERY careful! Always meet in a public place with lots of people around and NEVER go somewhere private and alone with them until you are completely comfortable they are safe.

It depends! Taking a train to see someone special isn't desperate by itself. If you've been talking for a long time and feel a strong connection, it's romantic! Just be cautious if it all happened really fast. Maybe video chat first and make sure you're on the same page. But hey, following your heart can lead to amazing things! Good luck!
So I really don't know why you're going to see them, but to me it seems like you're either trying to hookup or this is someone you like romantically and want to meet them, and you're trying to convince yourself that there would be more to it. Like I said, I really don't know, only you do, I'm just saying what I think it's about.

But go to meet just one person? Nyet. I would spend my time in my destination town on solo activities if necessary. I’m an old pro at that sort of thing.
Nah, that's true love right there. But I agree that I wouldn't do it just to meet someone and chill in their house. So if they lived in a place that isn't worth visiting, I'd probably have them come to ME. The only exception I might make is if they guaranteed me, at least a hand job.

That's not desperate. As long as you're going there with other stuff in mind. It's important to be extremely realistic and clear about expectations before doing something like that.
