Right now, I would say "medium". I've been on 3 of them that size, in the last 6 months. Funny that back in the 1990's, what is considered "small" now, were the "large" ones then. The large ones then ran about 47,000 to 50,000 tons. The large ones now are HUGE. I'm not even sure what the think of one that holds 10,000 people (between passengers and crew).
I would never want to be on a floating petri dish where there are hundreds of people crammed into a little boat.
I like larger ships cause there is more options and places to eat and take photos. It’s not like an a land hotel where you could get exhausted or lost if the hotel is too big. I have been to large ones where it took 4 days for me to figure my way around the place. By then, my vacation was half over.
I can't think of anything more boring than a cruise ship holiday. I'd be more interested on what's onboard than it's size
@purplepoppy Agree, 'purplepoppy' some people in my office worked on a 'cruise ship" and they said, the only people taking a cruise were "the newly wed, nearly dead, and the "Over fed" and I believe it.

A PRIVATE one.
I have less than zero interest in being crammed on a ship with 5000 people, and having zero control over where we were, where we were going, and what was going on. I'm far too independent to find that attractive.
the larger the better...
perhaps... less chances to catch a mad virus
but, it could mean a lot more people... so a lot more chances to catch a nasty bug
I said the medium sized ship and actually I've been on the Celebrity Solstice. It was a great ship, lots of cool things going on especially the Corning Glass Blowing demonstrations, they were pretty cool. Good shows and stores too.
My first and only cruise was in 2005. Next cruise will probably be to Alaska, and i would prefer a ship that is truly unsinkable!
The bigger the better! In fact, it must be positively titanic.
An aircraft carrier. Lots of excitement every day. And visiting wonderful famous ports.
We just came back from the Norwegian Joy. It’s medium based on the comparison.
Not a cruise fan, prefer a yacht or family size cruiser
Anything not named- Titanic or Pequod -
super large where there are many things to do and the possibility of having more women available to chat up.
None. I don't have the patience to be stuck on a boat for days.
I prefer a 50 ft cruising sailboat that I Captain.
Large. I hate feeling the boat move
I prefer a helicarrier personally 😆
small adults only
1st.
Large ships
