Is it best to catch a cab back to the city station?

I’m attending a choir in a posh part of the city. Getting there will be easy. As for getting home; I can catch a city bus straight home from the city. However, getting back from the posh area, is a few train station stops for me. Would it be wiser to catch the train and save some money, or fork out for a cab for a twenty minute ride to where I need to catch the bus? Since I’m a woman travelling alone?
