What’s the shortest distance you’ve ordered Taxi for?

I live 3-4 min walk away from my company, about 300 meters away, yesterday it was cloudy in the morning and I wore warmer clothes,

in the afternoon it got so hot, it would be a suicide to walk in that sun with the warm clothes I was wearing, I am not usually so lazy and I love walking but I ordered Taxi so I wouldn’t feel like getting rid of the clothes on my way home.

One time my wife got comped an expensive room in a very nice hotel in San Francisco. That night, we had reservations at a restaurant with a spectacular view on the top floor of another really nice hotel.

We didn't know where the restaurant was, so we left our hotel that evening and hailed a cab. When we told the driver where we were going, he gave a strange disgusted look.

He took off, went to the end of the block, turned left, then two more left turns and dropped us off at the door of the hotel with the restaurant. He basically went around the block.

Come to find out, it was right across from the hotel we were staying in. From door to door it would have been a 150' walk max. 😂😂😂

Three of us were in London England many years ago, and we had tickets for the theatre. We took the tube to where we were told to, and walked around, but we couldn't find the theatre. We hailed a black taxi, gave the driver the theatre name, and he drove us half a block to the front of the theatre. A 30 yard taxi ride.

3 small streets that would’ve taken 7 minutes to walk haha. I used to live really close to my former best friends house and sometimes just couldn’t be bothered walking. Plus I used to have a lot of disposable income. After a few years I became really close with all of the taxi drivers 😂 because I would pay $8 for my short distance and then tip them $20. Easy money for them!

Across a busy highway that had no crosswalk. You basically had to drive all the way down one side and up the other. No jaywalking

i just drive, if i were to go on the back seat its either cause im getting arrested or an uber, uber is just cheaper than taxi

But my companies apart from this one right at the corner of the street, usually pay for Taxi so it is paid for me.

That would be to a hotel in Nice about 400 metres. Got out of the fast train station and couldn't figure where hotel was so got a cab - the driver seemed to know where it was but it soon was clear he didn't. No French so couldn't communicate. It turned out there two hotels of the same name. It cost about $300 to go those 400m.

Two blocks on the other side of the street. It was 5am at the start of our honeymoon and we were catching an international flight and I didn’t realized the hotel was so close to the terminal. I felt bad and heavily tipped the driver about $13 adjusted for inflation.
