How fast have you ever gone in a car or truck?

For me, I was a passenger in a Mercedes SUV doing 240 kph (~150 mph) on the Autobahn between Berlin and Braunschweig Germany. Fastest I've ever driven was 105 mph (~170 kph) in a Mini Metro on the M25 motorway outside London England, a few years before it became a parking lot. 95 mph (~150 kph) is the fastest I've ever driven in the United States, on I-75 in Florida.

# 1 :   235 mph  (caught by a high-resolution radar gun) in April of pandemic locked-down 2020 all by myself with a rare  twin-turbocharged Saleen S7  on the super straight northbound stretch of the California State Route 99 between the 5 Freeway & Route 99 split and Bakersfield.  #2:  221 mph  (also clocked by the same radar gun) with 2 passengers seated behind me while blasting southbound on the same stretch of the California State Route 99 between Bakersfield and the Route 99 & 5 Freeway split on a gorgeous  McLaren F1  that same day after my run with the Saleen S7.  #3:  190 mph  (approximately) on my very own  '18 Porsche Panamera Twin-Turbo S E-Hybrid Executive  while zooming passed my husband driving our camera-loaded motorhome RV through the Eisenhower Tunnel which is at least 11,000 feet above sea level, west of Denver (Colorado), to catch the sunset on our way to Vail in October of 2019.

After watching you tube videos of all the crashes that occur when people drive too fast, I don't think I'll be driving fast or riding with anyone who drives fast. Some people call their car their "go fast", so it lets you know what is on their mind for driving habits.

I have a cousin who is a gear head. He built a 1967 Camaro and took me for a ride in it. The acceleration literally sat me back in the seat at first. We hit just shy of 140 before he had to wind it down, and to this day i swear i could see the fuel gauge dropping as the speed was increasing. Ell oh ell!
Fastest i ever went myself was 110, twice. I was topped out in my Jeep Cherokee and a friend had to tell me i was doing 110 because the speedometer didn’t go past 85. The other time, i backed off the throttle on my Suzuki when the death shake started. I was still accelerating. So it could have gone faster. I just didn’t want to die to find out how much. Ell oh ell!

My father had a 1978 Mercury Cougar. It had a 400 Cu inch engine. It really was a good road car. The speedometer went up to 140. I had it pretty close one find summer day when my father let me take it to New York. There was a long straightaway and I just kept accelerating. The ride was so smooth it did not seem like I was going that fast so when I looked at the speedometer I was surprised. I immediately checked the rear view for cops.

When I was a teen, my older cousin took me for a ride in his souped up Corvette. He took me out to a long, straight road and uncorked it. We got up to 120 mph.

I've driven 90 lots of times. The fastest I've ever driven in the U. S. is 100 mph.

On the Autobahn, I got up to 175 kph for a stretch.

120mph on the 405 back in cali as a teen. Can't remember which BMW it was but it was powered by one wheel. Neighbor was taking other neighbors and I to a Halloween display put on by movie prop guys. But I've red lined a Yamaha YZF in 6th. I didn't look down at the speedometer but the bike has a limiter of 299km/hr so I assume that's about where I let up off it.

It was on a stretch of road out in Alberta on a borrowed bike.

I was in the car with some of my friends when I was like 13, and our older friend who was the driver decided to race the group of girls we knew (including his sister) who were going to the same location. At one point, we hit probably 110-120 mph in the vehicle on a more rural part of the highway we were on for about a mile or so. The girls didn't want to go above 80-100, so we beat them to where we were going.

I think about 180 km/h on a downward stretch. I had just gotten my license, was driving my dad's car. Only it was a family sedan and it started to shake so bad I had to take my foot off the gas. It clearly wasn't designed to go anywhere near that speed.

80, maybe 100 mph but, if I went 100, I wasn't driving. When I drove 80, it was by mistake. I was listening to music while driving and started using the gas pedal as one of my bass drum pedals and, I gradually sped up to 80 before realizing I was even going more than 60!!

1974-75 Suzuki 550 three cylinder. Got it up to 100mph but the wind almost tore my helmet off until my cruising partner convinced me to crouch down and decrease my wind resistance. Enough of that shit.

Years ago, I did my own auto tune-ups and I would check the timing by accelerating the very quickly to see if I got just a slight amount of clatter from the engine. If so, I had the timing right. I would test it on a very unused section of rural road and sometimes accelerated to 90-95 mph.
