Has driving culture changed, or are people just worse at stop signs?

Lord let say this has driving test change or people can’t drive because where I live stop signs don’t coexist with their brains and how the roll right pass them? I stop all the time fully and make sure that it is full stop too because one day I had someone go around me because they didn’t like the full stop. Has driving changed

COVID made roadway maniacs out of a lot of drivers.

In the COVID days, when the streets were mostly empty, I think that the people who were still getting out there on the road felt like they had free rein to drive however they pleased.

As more people then returned to driving, the free-reiners continued their selfish ways.

And agree with me or don't, I think that COVID also fried most people's brains in so many ways, just because of the stress of the situation, whether they even came down with it themselves or not, that everyone has frickin' lost their minds to some extent.

All of that has made for much worse driving habits.

Driving hasn't changed, no; people are just impatient, and think the rules don't apply to them.

It's not just stop signs; it's every aspect of driving. People suck, and they either don't give a crap about the rules of the road, or are too ignorant to realize they drive like a fucking moron.

The best thing you can do is to always be vigilant for some jackass to break the rules, and drive defensively. You can be the most perfect driver on Earth, and still get into an accident because of some other jerk, so try to plan for that contingency.

I used to live in a city where stop signs were treated more like yield signs. They would just slow down and not stop at all. I even got honked at for making a full stop at a stop sign. I think driving culture hasn’t changed. Drivers are just too impatient on the streets and don’t care about rules unless they are pulled over and cited for it. But even sometimes that’s not enough.

If nobody gets hit, it’s not as huge an issue as authorities make it out to be. I agree, defensive driving practices are important, but if you can clearly see that there’s nothing there before you arrive, a california roll stop isn’t going to kill anyone, and certainly not yourself. Since Covid (2000) people are working from home, driving less and getting sloppy. The other day I almost knocked down two pedestrians on a zebra crossing. I never saw the crossing or the pedestrians. Please don't tell anyone, I don't want points on my licence.

I notice a lot of people that treat every intersection as if it's a 4 way stop even when it isn't. They think whoever got there first gets to go even if they don't have the right of way.

It has changed. I am at the point of ordering a bumper sticker that says, "STOP =/= YIELD."

Honestly, from the driving I see in the U. S., the stop-signs are the least of the problems.

Impatience from Covid era restrictions curfews
