I heard French people on travel to neighboring countries and their islands, because they're poor and don't speak English. I only ever met like 2 French people in my whole life, but lately I've been seeing them almost everywhere I've been. Malta, Panama, Dominican Republic, Oahu. Even in my park. I've also been seeing an increased number of French travel shows and YouTubers.

I think you were probably just not noticing them before, because French people have always traveled internationally. 😂 France has a strong travel culture, and not everyone is limited to neighboring countries or French speaking destinations. Plenty of French people speak English, too, even if some prefer not to.
Maybe you're also visiting places that have become popular with French tourists, or you're simply noticing them more now that you've started paying attention. The French travel YouTubers popping up everywhere could be part of it as well. I'm curious whether the numbers have actually increased or whether we're just seeing them more often. 🌍✈️
The French/Europeans have always encourage their people to travel. It’s not new.
I often see the odd French number plate on the local roads in summer and I've spotted a few French flags on yachts in the local harbours. I think they come here for the food.
