Is it weird for a European to not travel to other countries?

My aunt from Vietnam married a Frenchman and has lived in France (a commune near Strasbourg to be more exact) with him for 6 years. She has never been to Paris and has only been to 2 other European nations -- Germany and Switzerland. Heck, I'm American and have been to Paris, so I don't see why she hasn't. Countries in Europe are relatively small, compared to U. S. states, so it's normal for, say, someone in Germany to take a day-trip to the Netherlands or someone from London to take the Eurostar to Paris. 6 years is more than enough time to go from Strasbourg to Paris -- like less than 3 hours by car.

Honestly, not really. I see that Germans, English, Russians and Poles travel a lot, but those are really the only ones. And even so, they mainly go to chill on the warmer waters of the Mediterranean.

The lady from Strassbourg doesn't surprise me. French people can't understand why Americans love Paris so much, as the French hate that place.

For a lot of Europeans, travel is very expensive, and they don't see the point in going to other cities countries to look at the same kind of attractions they have at home.

The U. S. is much larger than Europe. In Germany, you can drive a few hours to Prague in the morning and be back by evening. In the U. S., driving from where I live to New York would take 2 days, including stopping to eat, rest, and sleep. For a European like yourself (your bio), this might be hard to imagine. And SHE wants to travel. It's her husband who doesn't want to travel.

Who cares as long as they are happy with their own little life and lifestyle. I know lots of people who do not care about the rest of the world culturally or physically. They simply want their little space to function properly 🤷🏻‍♂️

No its not weird. Some people aren't interested in travel. Consider this, you'd be surprised how many people live in London have never seen Buckingham Palace, when it's just a bus ride or two away.
