Farewell (and Good Riddance) To 2016

2016 has been a hell of a year. From multiple deaths, A surprise election, protests and rioting in the streets. To surprise World Series Wins, Tech Innovations, People standing up for what they believe in, and much more. This year was nonetheless filled with events that changed us as a civilization and a generation.

First off we kinda need to mention the obvious. This year was filled with many celebrity deaths. From Prince, Merle Haggard, Muhammad Ali, Carrie Fisher, Debbie Renyolds, Gene Wilder, Fidel Castro, George Michael, Alan Rickman,David Bowie, Elie Wiesel, Harper Lee,Glen Frey, Leonard Cohen,Alan Thicke,Florence Henderson,Pat Summitt,Lemmy,Chyna, Arnold Palmer, Doris Roberts, Christina Grimmie,Gary Marshall, The list keeps going but I think Ill stop here.

This year was a very eventful year for tragedy as well. Terror attacks in Nice, Berlin, Orlando, Aleppo,Istanbul,Brussels, And several places in Syria, Turkey,Iraq,Russia, as well as may other places. Riots and Protests in Chicago, St. Paul, Dallas,Charlotte, Tulsa, NYC,Baton Rouge, Milwaukee, Dakota Access Pipeline, Oakland,Portland,Atlanta,Miami, Nashville,Las Vegas, Washington DC,and many more cities. Clowns creeping us out making us scared to go out in the days before Halloween.

Politics was fucked up this year too. North Carolina lost a lot of credibility and revenue over a controversial Bathroom Bill stating that people would have to use the restroom of their birth gender. The Rise of Bernie Sanders gave way to Hillary Clinton's nomination to the Democratic candidate for US President being the first female to do so. Then came Donald Trump, A businessman whom has never held political office, and has said very off the wall things. In a controversial election with hacking involved on part of Russian Hackers, The Electorial College, Hillary actually winning the popular vote,Donald Trump was elected the 45th President of the United States.

But lets look at some good things that happened in 2016. Betty White is Still Alive, The Chicago Cubs won the World Series for the first time in over 100 years. Apple introduced a new I Phone, Google has now entered the smartphone market ,US Stocks went up, Many TV shows such as Empire, The Walking Dead, The Simpsons, Big Bang Theory are all still going strong. Gas prices were lower than the previous years. Peyton Manning won the Super Bowl in his final game. Ebola was eradicated. The first Billion Dollar Lottery jackpot was won. Leo finally won an oscar. Harriett Tubman to be added to the $20 bill. Pokemon GO was released. Stranger Things debuted on Netflix. Virtual Reality finally becomes reality Cuban Cigars are no longer banned in the US.

Yes 2016 was a shit year. Hopefully 2017 will be better, but these are not the first bad years we have had, and surely will not be the last. So,let's leave this year behind and jump into a new one.

This was a great year!
The Cavs beat the Larriors (I replaced the W with the L).
Phelps and Simone rocked rio and the entire olympics were a success.
Jordan won the presidential medal of freedom.
The stepping stones to curing cancer have been made.

It was a great year. Whether you love or hate Trump, you don't need to base this year on one person or blame his victory on false conspiracy theories such as the Russian hackers. Just look at all the good things that happened.

2016 was one of the worst years I have survived.

I was fired from my job because my boss didn't like me, then I kept searching for a new job until an employer FOUND and hired me instead of me applying for jobs.

And my life didn't change despite me trying my best.

I fear 2017 but at least I have now a job. Maybe something better will come out of it or at least I hope so.
