Not a freak accident. He was aware the issues and chose to willfully ignore them. Certainly as an executive producer he had the power to take a stand for safety and did not. Should be tried for depraved-indifference murder.
I don’t think he’d be stupid enough to commit a crime midst filming a movie. Why would he want to ruin his career like that? He’s an A list millionaire actor, It would be pointless. It’s definitely the person who loaded the prop. They should be investigated.
No, I think the people that were hired to deal with it - the prop department and armor department should be held responsible for not guaranteeing that the weapon was safe to use. As much as some people say it was, it isn’t Alec Baldwin’s responsibility to check the weapon before being used. Other people are paid to do that so that he doesn’t have to. Those that failed to guarantee the weapon was safe to use should be held responsible.
Exactly. This is simple. It's just some bizarro world we now live in, that people choose to let their personal biases colour every single opinion. No person in their right mind blames an actor (no matter who he/she is) for something like this.
Accidents happen that is what they are call accidents and this one was a freak one. The prop guns should had been check first by the crew I guess it did not happen. Alec is not responsible. I doubt he meant it or had any intention to kill this woman and injure the director. Remember Brandon Lee.
Depends on whether he knew it was loaded with live rounds or not. I think it’s hilarious that a douchebag liberal crybaby like him is using a scary vile firearm to make money in films, talk about a 2 faced hypocritical piece of shit. Personally, yes, I hope they lock him up for the rest of his douchebag life.
Under those circumstances, no, it's not like he took action that should have caused it.
I'm not a fan of him in any way but actors and actresses shoot scenes like that under the impression that the guns are loaded with blank rounds and they should not be able to do harm to co-workers.
Clearly they need to look at why the prop guy still has a job if he can't tell the difference between blank and live rounds.
Everyone involved and not involved knows what happening. The crew that was over the munition, are responsible for such things. I also strongly dislike how the news just blatantly say that he shot and killed a person. So he should not be charged at all
No he shouldn't be charged, he is just an actor and i am sure he didn't want to be a reason of it. Accidents like that usually happen in movie sets, as far as I know Bruce Lee's son also died like that in movie set.
He won’t be held personally liable or charged with an actual crime since it seems like it was a total accident. The family of the victims may, and likely will, sue the studio for negligence and will win. The set already had numerous safety violations and this may halt filming altogether.
Can we wait till all the information to be in and evaluated before rendering our 4th and 5th hand information and hanging the poor bastard and I personally dont like Alec Baldwin but at least let the police finish their investigation. I wonder how this would play out with defunded the police dept.
Before any conclusions can be drawn, the investigation has to be completed. It's too early to be talking about charging anyone, or deciding what happened. Everyone involved deserves as complete an honest an evaluation of the event.
Everyone who knows anything about guns knows you’re supposed to check the chamber REGARDLESS. It’s ridiculous that several people neglected to do that. They should all be charged with negligence at best.
From the articles I’ve read, he was handed the gun and asked to shoot it so the real suspect is whoever loaded the gun. One source said it was a non-union member that loaded it.
Of course but was accident! And he was assured the gun was safe to use. The person who should be held to account, is the one in charge of these sort of props.
He expected it to be a fake movie prop gun. The fact that it actually fired and killed a bitch was probably as surprising to him as if he had pointed his finger and yelled BANG and the bitch dropped dead.
This all looks like the plot from a TV detective show. We need to ask WHO wanted the bitch dead, WHO was able to replace a prop gun with a real loaded gun. and WHO knew that Alec Baldwin is an idiot that points fake guns at people and pulls the trigger.
@WowwGirl it's weird that in this era their still mistakes in movies production, especially when it comes to weapons, the person who is responsible about the weapons safety should be arrested!
I believe that the crow movie back in the 90's wasen't a fault, it was done intentionally to end bruce lee's son's life "brandon lee"... i was a kid backthen and when i heard the news i was shocked knowing that the actor have really died from the rifle's wounds cause they were real and made it look like an accident!
The same way about bruce lee's death a bunch of conspiracies...
No, it was not Baldwin's fault. In every shooting there is a person whose job is controlling this kind of things and he/she is the only responsible of this situation.
I think at the very worst he'll get manslaughter, and personally don't think he'll get charged with that even. I believe for murder they would have to prove motive, and even if there was bad blood you usually wouldn't just kill someone straight out in the open like that

Nope. It was an accident, the fault lies with the prop department, who gave him a loaded gun
Remember the crow
That was creepy

I can't wait to see the SNL skit.
Baldwin can play himself as the shooter.
@TonyMetal___86 the whole crow story was creepy to me
Actor was Bruce lee's sexy son
@WowwGirl the movie was completed using CGI and i think that they used a double stunt guy...
His son's name is Brandon Lee...
in the SNL skit, @billyballs can play the doofus who handed Alec a loaded gun while telling him it was safe.
@supercutebutt that's sad
Nobody knows who loaded the gun but it’s probably not Alec since doing this would be horrible PR for his career.
Yeah tell me about it
No, it was not Baldwin's fault. In every shooting there is a person whose job is controlling this kind of things and he/she is the only responsible of this situation.
Maybe a poor choice of words there? :)
@goaded oh!! Yes, you are right! I meant filming 😁
