Do you only watch or hear news that only agrees with you politically and your ideological philosophies?

I wouldn't call what I watch news. The "news" that disagree with me is useless propagandist nonsense and those that are roughly on my side are little better.
I watch podcasts where people disagree with each other all the time, but the general vibe is 95% something I can live with. Typically it would be people who have economic views I object to, but share my opinion on liberty or woke madness. It can be people I agree with on matters of religion, but then disagree on woke madness. Sometimes its people who agree with me on almost everything but that is rare. I do not watch content by people who are wrong on most topics. I don't see much benefit in that, because they will not correct factual errors I may have, they will mostly just throw unsupported opinions in the air and annoy me in the process.
It is people I have already something in common with who are best positioned to change my mind about something important. For example a fantasy book reviewer changed my opinion on trigger warnings, even though I don't normally go to her for political content.
I try to figure out what the facts are, stay with whoever is most consistent and truthful, then filter whatever news I hear to the contrary accordingly. Pop radio stations are the worst way to get news. About 80% of what you'll hear on them is outright lies and propaganda. They say whatever they're paid to say.
The news that's on TV in Britain generally tries to remain impartial but I've seen less focus on itv for example to offer world news.
It seems dedicated to America and Europe.
Only catastrophes seem to appear from around the world.
Thanks for mho x
I completely cut myself off from the news many months ago. Tried of the manipulating undertones. Anything I hear is by word of mouth, which turns out is a good way to filter to the most important.

I watch Gutfeld on Fox. I appreciate the fact that they make it very clear when they're giving their opinions on the news, rather than places like CNN who push their opinions as fact or law. Then, they also show videos of things that actually took place, and haven't been altered like ABC news when they showed footage from a gun show, edited the clip to hide the audience, and claimed it to be violence in Syria when they were bullshitting the American people about "Trump causing the violence by pulling troops out".
So, I listen to news that presents the actual facts, the guests give their opinions on those facts, and video is played so I can see what's actually happening and I can form my own opinion about those facts.
I stopped watching sometime after Biden got into office. Just couldnt stand it anymore. I stopped watching during the Obama years too. But now even if a non-dem comes in, nope. I'm done with politics 100%. I'm tired of these jokers and losers having control in gov when none of them are remotely qualified to be there.
I always try be as open-minded as possible but am passionate about the things I believe so certainly follow articles and news that supports my arguments or perspective... BUT, to stay educated and in an attempt to understand the opposing perspective, I also follow news that doesn't support my perspective.
I mostly get my news from Reuters. They don't really have any sort of bias. When it comes to controversial figures and events they don't take part. They just say that "Bidden started to investigate a possible Chinese involvement in covid." They don't call it "the China virus" and they don't say that Bidden investigates something that already has been investigated three times. They just say what's happening without a single emotion.
I take notice of some ''news''; much of them are not 'touching' me personally.
If I'd select only my ''own'' ideas, my news feed would be mostly empty.
Interesting fact: ''News'' should be facts, but not opinion making.
Obviously, this is one other 21st century trend.
I don't watch political news, I watch news about things I like.
Like what games or tech are coming out, or new species that get discovered, or scientific discoveries and inventions, or when the next season of an anime will come out, or when new products I would like launch, etc.
Since the covid BS put us all in fear then turned out to be fake I no longer watch any news channel. I used to watch Fox News and after that I could not believe a word they said. Now I know that all news including Fox is fake and controlled by the Satanic elite. They don't actually present you with the news. Just propaganda and agendas.
I do not follow any particular ideology and I love to be aware of all contradicting views.. Awesome question 🌹
Real news has no ideology.
Real news is hard to find.
Well... there aren't many REAL news. But the ''news providers'' need to fill the empty spaces of their air time :)
@andreasderjuengere: Local news are legitimate though.
Yes, I grant that.
no i try to listen to practically all ideas. Even ideas from woke culture to tell you how open my mind is 🤣
I'm surrounded by news I don't agree with. By default, I hear both.
You can't get a real vision of how society as a whole sees our politics unless you see both sides of an issue and make your own decision.
Most news I read just stated what happened. They're not opinion pieces
I get news from several different media. For example, I watch both liberal (MSNBC) and conservative (FOX) news channels. The truth is usually somewhere between them.
It's the only way to get an idea of what really happened. Both sides only tell you what they want to.
I don't know of any news source nowadays that doesn't have some strong leanings, hell many of them pride themselves on how they skew.
I watch everything cause I don't have a political ideological. The world is complex to follow identity politics.
The news is propaganda at it's finest. It's not even worth it to try and watch it
i don't watch the news or listen to the radio conspiracy theories
i like to argue in the youtube comments. so news i disagree with is enjoyable
