Well, if he was indeed defending himself, then it's a good verdict, if he wasn't, then it's a bad verdict.
I wasn't there.
As long as the jury were acting in accordance with the law, then that's good enough for me.
Maybe they stop covering riots. Then I’m sure rioters will still make excuses about insurance even though it doesn’t cover what they’re doing to the business.
Wrong thread.
I think it was absolutely the correct verdict
It was pretty much always going to be not guilty... and no the state shouldn't be responsible for his legal fees.
My biggest fear now is a bunch of kids are going to do exactly what he did and get more people killed trying to play hero.
The verdict is in accord with the evidence and the law, so is correct.
Yes, the state should pay. This was a kangaroo court to keep "the base" happy. no one with a brain could see any way he was going to be guilty, just like the one in Louisville. Attack a guy with a gun, get a Darwin Award.
I’m extremely happy for him! When he dropped I cried. And I don’t cry easily.
Wtf you sound like such a punk loser
Thank you @Aphrodite801! That’s the nicest thing a girl has ever said to me 🥺
I think a lot of people felt that way
@Aphrodite801 you're a punk bitch
@ElizaPam lmao glad I triggered your scary ass
Dude look at your page lmfao clearly some bitter “punk bitch” living in her moms dirty basement
I don’t even think you’re a girl atp lol
@ElizaPam one last thing slavery isn’t coming back “bitch” take your shit flag down, next time I see that fucking flag in person I will make sure to BURN it my self. Fuckin scary retards.
Hey what did I tell you assholes lmao didn’t even need to look at their page to tell Eliza was a fucking man lmfao if she doesn’t shut her not knowing what I am ass up
@ElizaPam, Southern Pride 👍🏻
It’s sad tbh.. but what Can we do, i expected that.
Honestly, it was the right verdict
@PeterQuillsAlive I’m a sloot. Your response makes me wet.
Yeah, it's very sad that we live in a country when a person has the right to defend themselves when chased down by maniac who wants to kill them.
I may be confusing him with someone else.
It is going to result in a lot of people dying in the future.
Can you be more specific? Do you mean people who are about to torch & loot an innocent person's business?
@hahahmm Little of everything. People around USA is going to look at Kyle, not as a cautionary story of what can happen if you are an idiot but as an example and demonstration of how to get away with killing people or play hero.
This in turn will result in these people going out into the world to seek out conflicts which will possibly end up with them either shooting people or being shot themselves and all of this poses a public risk meaning people around them which has nothing to do with either side will also be injured and die.
Its just an overall worsening of an already bad situation in USA.
"seek out conflicts" -- Bro, if I see somebody trying to loot/burn my neighbor's place then that person started the conflict. Not me when I do the same thing cops would do if they were there. Unfortunately for looters and arsonists, defunding the cops doesn't keep citizens from doing the cop's job. I have zero problem with people defending an innocent person's home or business from looters, arsonists and vandals. If you want to invite mobs of people to loot your place, feel free to invite them to do that and make sure everybody knows not to help you. I don't think anybody will object.
"Its just an overall worsening of an already bad situation in USA." -- Oh, but it'd be okay if we let mobs of people destroy as much property as they want to? Yes, the US is turning into a burning dumpster. Doesn't mean it's okay to be an asshole or that you get to do whatever you wish to. Respect is a two-way street. Don't want to get shot like a dog.. don't act like a rabid dog. It's not that complicated.
@hahahmm *facepalms* Man I am so tired of people who speaks on incredibly complicated subjects using only their gut feelings. Look here, having civilians seeking out conflicts is a TEEEEERBILE idea. I am not sure I could even do it justice how bad of an idea that is. In fact, the whole reason we have professional police today is because having civilians deal with it did not work.
In fact it worked so badly that its actively harmful, meaning they cause more deaths and damages than they save. It does not really matter if its someone like Kyle Rittenhouse who gets himself into such a dumb situation that he kills two people and injures a third or have an idiot thinking himself the neighborhood watch and stalk and kills an unarmed teenager or even a case of a mass shooting where someone decides to play hero and try stop the killer.
Regardless of the situation, they more often than not make things worse. Sure you can defend yourself when you need to and all that but you are doing the police a favor of you GTFO and let them handle it.
@Soteris Gut feeling? As opposed to your idealistic hope that we can use simple math to make the world better.. Reduce the number of deaths and magically the world is a better place, seems to be your reasoning. I guess if a gang of people destroy everything you own & rape your loved ones it's okay... it's even okay if they kill 2 of your loved ones as long as none of the bad guys die because then the numbers are better than if say 3 people total (1 bad guy plus 2 loved ones died). You're the type of guy who should be given a white flag and a plane ticket to ISIS territory so you can teach them how wonderful life would be if they just listened to you. Meanwhile the rest of us know how to deal with violent assholes.
@Soteris If you want to save lives tho... tell rioting types not to attack people who have a backbone. You could save a lot.
@hahahmm Killing people who are guilty of crimes is literally against the foundation of modern law and society. Only the court of law has the power to decide the punishment and crime of people. Putting aside your complete lack of understanding of modern society, its hardly news that shit happens to people.
I dont even call it "unlucky" since that implies that it happened because of their misfortune rather than pure random chance. This is not an argument against the best solution we have, as much as it is evidence that you got no intention of actually wanting a solution in the first place. You can't escape the fact that people will get hurt, raped, killed etc.. It is a fact of life as we know it at least for now.
The childish belief you have that "If only I have a gun" or "If only I act to defend myself and those I care about" then nothing bad would happen. I feel ashamed that I even need to tell a grown ass man this but you dont have control over your life and bad things are going to happen regardless of your intentions and efforts. You can work to make it less likely, but that is "using simple math" and will never actually remove the chance.
In the end you are just another pathetic man who can't get over his fears and insecurities and has to cling to his comfort blanked but in gun form to give him an illusion of peace.
@Soteris "killing people who are guilty of crimes is literally against the foundation of modern law and society. " #1 You just made that up. Sure, it's true that there's people in modern society who believe it's always wrong to kill somebody. But laws say it's 100% okay to kill somebody in self-defense. In many jurisdictions it's also okay to kill people who are committing a felony. Maybe people should study up on the laws before they go breaking them to avoid avoidable deaths.
"I feel ashamed that I even need to tell a grown ass man this but you dont have control over your life and bad things are going to happen regardless of your intentions and efforts." -- The condescending is over the top. Why don't you convince your favorite politicians to give up their security details since in your wisdom they won't keep bad things from happening. Next tell 100% of the cops to stop having weapons for the same reason. Finally, tell the military that too. After you get all of them to stop being "childish" I'll think about taking you seriously.
@hahahmm There is a difference between what is legal or "okey" and how the authority is divided in society. This goes into the realm of philosophy which you clearly have no interest in talking about so I am just going to say that you dont know what you are talking about and that it has nothing to do with what is "Legal" or not.
Also yes I am condescending to you because you have been an asshole in this conversation so I see no reason to give you the benefit of the doubt or to take you seriously when you are clearly out of your depth and neither know what you are actually proposing or even what you actually believe in. I mean really, why should I lower myself to your level when you dont even realize that you have fallen victim to some of the most basic self deception there is? You are a fool who fooled yourself.
Oh, I guess I was an asshole if we define being an asshole as showing you how silly your arguments are. Don't think I personally insulted you which you felt the need to do to me. But it's all good. I'm used to people like you being unable to channel their rage in a civil way while lecturing others about gun violence.
@hahahmm Dude, this is the internet. I am neither concerned about what you say nor worried about insulting you personally. The less serious you treat the argument the more antagonistic I become to entertain myself because the subject of the argument sure as hell is not engaging me.
I am not a teacher, as such I am not here to teach you what I expect the baseline knowledge to be. For example, I got no problems with someone supporting vigilantism if they where cognisant of what that actually meant and I am sure I could have an interesting conversation with such a person even though I am probably against everything they stand for and consider it a terrible danger to society.
However your belief in vigilantism is basically vacuous. You have not sat down and thought about what you actually believe in, the philosophy behind it and how it would realistically turn out in reality. You are just going with your "common sense" and what feels right to you. I honestly dont care about debating against your misguided feelings in what you think is right and wrong.
Exactly as predicted. No one can honestly say they are surprised.
They had no case against them to the point they tampered with evidence, so its a very just verdict.
Kenosha Hat Trick
Removing a sex offender, a wife-beater, and a burglar from society in one night.
Kyle scored himself a Kenosha Hat Trick before he reached voting age.
Well people ganged up to attack a man with a loaded AR lol whether or not he should have been there it is self defense at the end of the day. I do think both sides are stupid
Bunch of racist sexist fake murderers in these comments smh
How are they “racist”? Give me an example.
I don’t have to give you shit, Casey you’re clearly being a clown. But he killed multiple BLM people and that’s one of the main ones you clowns are supporting him.
Nope you’re done lol
You're either a brainwashed self hating whiteliberal who doesn't have a clue about the real world or you're a person of color shamelessly looking forward to your revenge
^Shut the hell up and get a life you dumb racist broad. Women like you are SAD. Such a disappointment.
Kyle Rittenhouse is a piece of shit MURDERER and that’s a fact case closed.
Yeah, when you’re a white guy who shoots three other WHITE people who are ATTACKING you, you’re definitely a murderer.
He shouldn’t have been out there threatening people with his damn gun, periods. Then he wore a shirt trying to be funny about it? He’s a piece of shit. Nothing about being white or a guy, what a dumbass.
You must be talking about those BLM people who were setting stores on fire, burning up complete car lots full of cars and breaking into other businesses in town and stealing; Those are the fucking BLM assholes you are defending. It's a real shame more of them didn't get killed.
Yes he did shoot/kill BLM people and the law allows for that because they were about to inflict great bodily harm on him. Sorry for your loss.
@katie lol what a scary troll you are. I bet it hurts you so much knowing BLM is still going stronger than ever before 🤣🤣 stay sad about it.
@RasmusAiken your boy is gonna be hunted and 9/10 taken out soon. So no, sorry for yours. Kyle the murderer will face consequences.
Lolol
Clowns.
She is just offended justice was actually served.
It is very clear she had no interest in researching this case.
@aphrodite801 doesn't realize she is part of the problem
Peter you are very pressed, I’ve ignored all your stupid comments. Go away clown. And STOP supporting woman abusers.
Honestly can’t believe the horrible things Kyle has done, he will be hunted for life.
I knew what was gonna happen and just like i said i turned on Fox News and they were cheering his victory on. they now see him as a hero who defended himself from us people who get in their way. make his lawyers pay for all those costs.
The fact so many radicals are calling for his head or to destroy the entire justice system we have is enought for me to know he's on the correct side.
Was absolutely the correct virdict.. I'm so glad I read all of the comments, it's a good way to figure out who to block.
The verdict was justified, and the people who want to bitch about it should go after the prosecuting attorneys. They literally proved his innocence.
For anyone who says he’s not guilty
i just feel bad for you, honestly.
I’m disappointed in whoever raised you
hopefully someday you’ll grow, & There won’t be any hate in your heart.
The fact that you have to ask others about their opinions to feel a validation to support your thinking or beliefs is exactly the problem. But to answer your question, "he's white". And that sums up everything. And the line for haters will commence
The Jury system has spoken.
Once we stop trusting the Jury system and just riot when the verdict doesn't go the way you want, the system will break down into chaos
More people will begin killing each other
I don't think much of it, it seems enough people care about it enough already.
I have nothing to say about it I’m not surprised. Just keep that same energy for everyone.
1. Because he was not guilty.
2. The jury was not indoctrinated by CRT, Pelosi, Schumer, Biden and the Demoncratic party
Bro that shit was self defense. Some of y'all would really let 3 grown ass mfs attack you with a gun and skateboard 🤣
I should be allowed to have as many abortions as I want.
It just makes me think what I’ve always thought: America is disgusting
Bunch of idiots
You're an idiot and you can keep your ass in Canada I'll fight a Canuck
@ElizaPam you are one of the worst people on here so your opinion means very little to me. It’s almost a compliment actually
He was completely innocent. 100% self defense. Imagine attacking soneone running away with a gun
A lot of people doesn't know what murder is have I noticed.
Both sides are suffering the outcome now just be worried about walking down the sidewalk anywhere 😕...
Prosecutors should be fired for intentionally fcking it up. With 15 hours of deliberation they could've got manslaughter.
Excellent! But now the Democrats are going to do whatever they can to corrupt what self defense means.
Overjoyed. I’m glad that justice can still win against the mob.
Surprised there no burning cities. Guess the thought that people can fight back really spooked them.
It was a great day in America , almost as big as Trump winning elections twice
Ah but he didn't win twice
He was released because he started crying in the court lol. Why are Americans making excuses for murder
It was self defense we believe in freedom
Just another murderer getting off without any consequences
White men can kill anybody and get off because of they’re privilege
Do you even know the victims? o. O
I believe yes it was the correct thing as it was self defence. But the question remains is that if he wasn't white would he have gone to jail?
I'm a racist then I guess 😂😂😂
Yeah, it would have gone way smoother if he was black. They wouldn't seize on the white supremacists angle so quickly and wouldn't pursue it so hard. Being white made everyone scream racism (even though the assailants who got shot were white) and made it worse for Kyle. There are people in progressive bubbles that are only just finding out now that no black people were shot.
He is innocent, he shouldn't go to jail, regardless of his color.
If he was black, would he go to jail? Maybe, and if so, it would have been very wrong. If something like that happens, I'll be on the streets protesting.
Good on him, I'm glad he's free now!
As an stuck up bimbo with bad breast implants, my opinion means nothing to society.
I couldn’t care less. Kyle Rittenhouse is of no consequence to me
Done feeding into all this bs political divide agenda
Wow. So many racist idiots n these comments
I think both sides use that slanderous tactic to much.
@Tabasco25 one side is much worse than the other.
globetrotter22 both sides say that about each other XD.
@Tabasco25 yes but one side uses more logic.
For example if Rittenhouse to the Jan 6th riots with the intention of protecting the Capitol Hill building and everything went down the exact same way it did I still have the capacity to look at the facts of the case and I would say he is not guilty.
I’m a moderate conservative and I was disgusted about the Capitol Hill riots by the way. But as fucked as that was it was the ONLY time I’ve heard of far right conservatives actually rioting in recent times. Meanwhile the left cheers on rioting like it’s noble and heroic. There is a clear distinction of mental capacity there. Right or left if you riot your a piece of shit. But so many people on the left see that differently. Now why is that?
@globetrotter22 No I agree that the temper tantrums are a lame way to communicate what u want and endorsing that behavior makes u a maladroit.
I guess I fear that the side I'm closer to in moral philosophy is loosing the grip on their tongues and it's harder to reason with them. It is what it is I guess.
@Tabasco25 same thing happened to me when I was younger. I was raised in a very conservative household and i was interested in the left. Then the more i got to know these kind of people in college the more i saw they didn’t live in reality.
It's whatever. We all knew he was going to be free
Sadly, people love to glorify murder.
I think it's absurd that this even went to trial.
Justice prevailed, for once.
I’m happy for the kid. The verdict seems accurate.
I am relieved because self-defense still lives on.
based on the facts it was the right verdict.
Justice actually exists?
Don't start none won't be none.
It's utter bull
A year from now, that kid's gonna be like...
Hey no negative vibes we’re trying keep. This on the positive sidee
@DCooper he’s probably going to be paranoid for awahile
@DCooper Yup, he's going to get so much money if he sues the media that objectively lied about him.
He's been offered internships by two republicans. I wonder how they know he is a republican 🧐
No Democrat is that good with a rifle.
Honestly it is the right verdict.
You must not have watched the trial.
@Paige90 ^ my thoughts exactly.
You're right I didn't. Thought it would be blatantly obvious that a person who illegally obtained a firearm traveled to another state with said firearm had motivation to use said firearm.
If you had watched the trial you’d know that the gun wasn’t illegal for him to possess in Wisconsin and he didn’t travel across state lines with it.
@Razp_Sorbet I can see that. Let me help you out
1. Rittenhouse was from Antioch, Illinois.. which is 30 minutes from Kenosha, Wisconsin. He had many connections in the city, including family, and work.
2. He didn't travel from Illinois to Wisconsin with the firearm. His friend (Dominick Black) purchased the firearm in Wisconsin for him with the understanding it would be kept until Rittenhouse was 18. However, even though he received it at 17.. this was not illegal under Wisconsin law which allows a clause on the short barreled weapons. Both the Defense and Prosecution accepted this Wisconsin law and threw the "Illegal Possession" claim out
3. The entire riot in Kenosha was due to the Jacob Blake shooting, which is another example of the poor handling of media of these incidents. I will attempt to sum this incident up as simply as possible. Jacob Blake's girlfriend had a restraining order on him, and there was a warrant out for his arrest for sexual assault. He decided to force his way into his girlfriends home once again. This led to her calling the police and naming him specifically as the perpetrator. In the end, Blake would not cooperate with police, was carrying a knife and a threat to others. On top of this they attempted to use a taser on him twice. Sadly, this led to the shooting where he was paralyzed.
@Razp_Sorbet
Further more, you should recognize that Rittenhouse was driving to Kenosha to stay with his friend Dominick. However, this eventually led to them and others being called by businesses to security (though the details on this are murky as I understand).
None the less, it led to the confrontations
To keep it simple, and to use Rosenbaum as an example (for he was the first to be killed).
Rosenbaum harassed and attempted to instigate fights with the armed people (including Rittenhouse obviously) throughout the night. He even threatened to hunt them down, corner them, and kill them. He was a convicted child molester.. and many do not believe he was even part of the original protests in the city.
None the less, he eventually chased Rittenhouse down the street.. and attempted to steal his firearm (around the same time another rioter fired an handgun).
This led to Rosenbaum being killed
^ who even had burns on his hands due to the heat of Rittenhouse's rifle
Later on Rittenhouse (who was going to turn himself into the police) was once again tracked down by other rioters.
This led to him falling to the ground, being kicked, being hit with a skateboard across the head
Huber (the other dead man) attacking him and attempting to take his rifle while he was on the ground
and Grosskreutz (who was shot in the bicep) pointing his handgun at Rittenhouses head (only after Grosskreutz feigned surrender.. and was going to let Rittenhouse go to the police... THEN he pulled his gun out and pointed it at his head)
ETC ETC ETC ETC
All of this is on video (for there is A LOT of footage of this event)
It would be helpful if you actually paid attention to these incidents
instead of taking the ridiculous media perspectives
IF ANYTHING, most of these events have been butchered by the media
be it police shootings, or "karens" , or racial tension.. etc
^ all of the above was part of the case
Even under Grosskreutz's own testimony (which by itself shows Rittenhouse as innocent).
If you simply watched a little bit of it
you would recognize how ridiculous it is to assume the outcome is "utter bull"
You're a brainwashed tool
Hmmm, sad. The US is in decay from long time ago.
horrible. the guy deserves to rot in hell
That the right decision was made
I am peacefully observing the seethefest
Faith in the justice system restored
why is this guy so dramatic 😆
He's just a young lad. I'd be freaking out and being dramatic if my life was nearly ruined at that age too.
Being involved in the shooting on either side of the gun is an emotional taxing event. Being involved in the court case this and emotionally taxing event
He's also been going through this for several months and finally received words that he gets to go home safe and sound
He's also a teenager
Talk-to-text typos aside LOL you get the point. Let's try to be human
