Would Gun School be a good idea?

What if we made people get certified by taking a year long gun school taught and judged by professionals before they can get a gun. Does this sound like it could work?

Or maybe just 3 months for assault rifles. Not including Cops and Soldiers.. they need guns

A good compromise would have it to where trained certified owners could buy guns without too much effort. That's how LTC is now, and that works great.

Have it to where if you're not trained, not well-vetted creates a longer wait time while your records are ran, and have a mental health database that could be vetted if questions came up.

The problem with any gun control is that there are Anti-Gunners, even in government that want to use any exception to end rights for everyone they can. One example is having all gun owners take a mental exam, and if the doctor hates guns, could fail every person that comes in wanting to buy a gun.

Yes good point. If they are already gun owners then there's no need. But for an 18 yr old to just walk into a gun store and buy an assault rifle.. its not right.

Because.. I can usually tell within a few days what a person is really like. I am a human lie detector. But buying an assault rifle at a gun store, you dont really get a good idea because the transaction is too short. And the Gun Store Owner just wants money anyway. So there's no way to really know what the gun is going to be used for. Or if the kid thinks he's cool for being like the guy in the videogame or the action movie lol

A year long gun school? What are they teaching them. The entire history of Firearms and how to shoot them? Holy fuck it takes the Army a week to teach soldiers how to shoot, and we're retards.

Maybe a year is too long. But the point is to get to know the people to filter out crazy people or people with bad intentions. 3 months maybe. I just dont think a BG check is enough. Especially for a 18 yr old. I mean we need to get certified to drive a Semi and clean up toxic waste and other stuff. So why not make them take a 3 month long certification course. Just spit ballin here. 🧠
