I disagree. If you killed everyone that sold drugs to someone else , you would execute 40% of the population. There are drug lords (which I think he is really meaning) and their people down the street that deal. I am also against death penalty.
The problem with punishment is that it doesn't deter crime- and killing the person isn't actually solving the problem that brought them to commit a crime in the first place. I'm not saying it's poverty, but it's a combination of personal lacking, and the inevitability that a segment of the population will recognize that they'll never WIN if they play by the rules.
Think about it: drug dealers may know rudimentary business, but they're not smart- they weren't good in school, and they don't present/ speak well. They'd never make it in school, or the professional world; so, what do we expect them to do? Accept their minimum wage job at walmart/ McDonalds, and never have anything nice/ new? You can't have a family off that; so, they go for the path that offers them the kind of money that all these entitled legacy banker's sons get easy, and for a time they're the top of the hierarchy. I don't blame them one bit- let alone the people who hate their meaningless lives and take drugs to cope.
So, what do we do, just kill all these people? First, anyone not smart/ talented/ integrated enough to succeed- just kill all them. Then anyone who take something to make their lives less boring, miserable, depressing- kill all them too. Finally, let's have cameras constantly on everyone's face to catch even a hint that they're not thrilled with their lot in life, and would possibly take an unorthodox path towards the things we ALL want- prestige, wealth, success, recognition, and temporal happiness.
Being raised in the heroin capital of the east coast, drugs aren’t a pretty situation by any means. Drug dealers aren’t always just some asshole looking to make extra money. A lot of times you just need to get that fast money for bills, food on the table, diapers, medication, etc. “Getting a job” isn’t always as easy as it sounds. You don’t have enough money to get a quality enough education to get a good paying job. And low-skill level jobs either don’t pay enough, or they’re all taken up by the people in the same boat. Even McDonalds can’t hire 90 people at one store. People living in the suburbs just wanting extra money are the real dickheads.

I say we just decriminalize drugs and let the junkies face the ultimatum of getting sober or dying to their addiction. This applies to the drug lords to. Let them run each other out of business by killing each other for competition purposes or balance each other out from an oversaturated market.
If anything, big pharma should be the one getting hit with prison sentences.

I guess they should take out the cigarette companies and drug companies that push stuff we don’t need too. On a technicality pharmacists are drug dealears. Cashiers could technically be called drug dealers since tgey ri g up pain meds for someone to pay for which means they sold someone a drug.
