Should Electric Busses (School busses) have pre departure training like airplanes?

Since many more busses will go electric (see govt passing out $5 billion of your tax $ for school busses), and we know electric anything (Teslas, bicycle batteries, etc..) can spontaneously catch fire without warning, does it make sense to require a "pre departure" training by attendant video (like on airplanes) on buses to ensure safe evacuation of children in the event of an emergency?

You know the drill from airlines... same thing.

A few times a year. They do bus evacuations as we as most drivers go over emergency procedures if anything was to happen.

To know there's this inherent risk, yet demand it of everyone anyway, is to say that you despise the self-reliance of the populace with a cult-like obsession to the point of being willing to see complete strangers' children die in a fire over and over again, rather than live in peace without paying homage to you as their god.

Nothing "spontaneously" catches fire- there's always a reason. You may not SEE it, you may not KNOW it, but it's there. There are real concerns about widespread adoption of electric vehicles, and spreading this kind of nonsense just undermines those concerns, making them all look like conspiracy theorist nonsense.

Furthermore, in the event of an electric vehicle going up in flames, the big difficulty is going to going to be if it's using Li-ion batteries (which I think most of them do), since that'll keep reigniting the fire; I actually don't know enough about firefighting to know how you'd put that out. However, you're still looking at FIRE in that case; with gasoline (diesel or otherwise), you're looking at an EXPLOSION. Think it through, man.

true, and maybe there's technology and practicies to avoid such issues... like when they scan airplanes shells for damage before an accident, or replace parts. e. g. periodically strip and rebuild batteries.
But reality is yes... they do catch fire, so do gas engines. and e-fires are tough to put the fire out.

You want your kids on a bus that can ignite... with X number kids trying to get out one door? safety needs to be #1. It's not the only solution, but it is a challenge to address before there is a disaster.

Yes, that's the key word- controlled. Early cars were deathtraps when fires started, and only became safer with successive iterations on the technology. Electric vehicles are comparatively much safer already, and will only become more so with time.

But electric planes are a soon to be thing as well. Also, inflight safety briefings are only there to give safety feature overviews as there are hundreds of people on a flight. Not so much the case on a bus.
