It doesn't matter if he is 21, if he committed murder he would still go to prison, no one would care, if he will get life sentence. The whole point of a secrete is to insure as few people know it as possible, which is why as a rule you need to have a need to know.

What was this Young Massachusetts national guards man's need to know?

Frankly if he was indeed the leakier, the Federal Goverment has some real problems securing its secretes, inexcusable after Edward Snowden.

Compartmentalize secrete information, and only trust the people with the longest of trustworthy track records with a position of deciding who gets access to what.

don't get me wrong, I think you have a valid answer. but could you could say that about anything when it comes to being 21, driving is dangerous, you can kill others and yourself, if you don't respect what a car can do, you could say that about having a gun, you shouldn't have a gun at 21.

I don't think age has nothing to do with it to some degree, I honestly think it very hard to know, who to trust. People cheat, lie, look at Robert Hansen, edward snowden, they both very intelligent and much older than jack, and still traded government secret.

@Hulk_kitty Its true a 21 year old can be a honest trustworthy guy, he just doesn't have the historical track record to both establish and prove that as well as someone say in their late 30s.

There is of course more to trust than simply the track record which a young kid typical fails at as well, the other is family and children.
If a forign goverment offered a 21 year old with little ties enormous amounts of money and a safe place to defect in exchange for particularity valuable secretes it would be relatively easy for him to do that. A man with family to whom he is strongly tied would find that much more difficult.

Hence why you don't let unmarried men without children deal with your most top secrete information or tecnoligy such as a stealth fighter. Logistically its too easy for him to simply take the money and fly off.
If he had a family he was tied living here he would have a lot more connections abandon, or chances to raise flags or spill the beans moving them all if he did get such an offer.

So yes Age is very important in determine trustworthiness, just as t also puts people in an ever less advantageous position to betray you.

@Hulk_kitty The case for 25 puts the threshold at mental maturity and that is indeed a great improvement in every respect including giving more life experience to help the goverment identify his charterer.

But its still not as good as someone in their late 30s, for a position of data vault guard I probably wouldn't choose anyone under 40 and less than 10 years a trusted employee of the goverment.

If your going to give someone the keys to the kingdom of secrete information you really should have as long a list of reasons to be loyal and record of loyalty as possible. This in fact would be a job qualification and we would ideally have as few people as possible in such jobs.

That they let a 21 year old into such a position of broad access just says the goverment has almost no security. That they did it after Edward Snowden shows they are entirely incompetently organized and they don't learn from their mistakes. No wonder China is robing us blind.

No it’s as I stated. This essentially amounts to treason. It’s a serious breech of security with no justifiable cause.

The only guy who ever did anything remotely like this that could be possibly commended was Snowden, as pretty much all that data collected by the NSA was probably in the vain of illegal search and seizure. I don’t think the government should be spying on its citizens.

This however is a different matter. Marjorie is fairly well known for her crack pot conspiracy theories so I can’t take her seriously. I don’t think she is well liked or supported amongst most conservatives and I don’t think most take her seriously either.

After reading it I don’t know what to say. If anyone seriously thinks the US doesn’t have “military advisers” AKA Green Barrett’s and other special forces their they’re kidding themselves. How are we gonna give military and financial aid without assessments from those who know. So I don’t find that part at all shocking and I don’t think it means we’re fighting a proxy war there.

None the less I firmly disagree her stance. I also find it hard to believe she has now knowledge of this if she’s on the national security counsel.

What does she think? We’re sending billions and weapons without some of our people on the other end to assess how the war is going and if they are winning or likely to loose, so it can be determined if this is a good idea? Not to mention their soldiers need training. I’m sure anyone we have there is assisting with that.
