Do you love a parade?

Today (June 14th) is the 250th anniversary of the US Army there was a parade in Washington DC today to celebrate this milestone. There were hundreds of soldiers in period uniforms, Tanks, Jeeps, Humvees and other vehicles along with paratroopers, helicopters and airplanes from different eras. President Trump reviewed the troops and gave perhaps his shortest speech ever (8 minutes) because the day was about the Army, one of the greatest fighting forces on then planet. It was a big display of patriotism.

I actually do. Maybe not miles of military vehicles and hardware like old USSR military parades. But do love marching bands, John Phillip Sousa music, drum majorettes, soldiers in dress uniforms, beauty queens in classic convertibles, floats, and stuff like that.

When I was growing up, our city had an annual parade. All the high school marching bands, drum majorettes, ROTC, floats, cheer leaders, prom queens and lots of classic cars were really fun to watch.
They brought people together and made you happy to be American without being jingoistic displays of military might.

@msc545 I found it informative and inspiring. The commentary on Newsmax was a lot more informative than on FOX. I did not read anything about ratings but I imagine that these two channels ran away with the audience.

They did talk about the penetration of the 120mm gun on the Abrams tank as opposed to the smaller gun a 75mm gun on the Sherman Tank
