A law is a law & after reviewing the law the state doesn’t have to pay dog shit.
South Carolina law (similar to many other jurisdictions) does not automatically provide financial restitution or payout to individuals who are acquitted or have their charges dropped after spending time in pretrial detention. Although Chow was incarcerated for roughly three years pending his trial, the state is not legally obligated to reimburse him for lost time, legal fees, or damages.
Nope. Quite the opposite.
He still will face a civil suit, and might actually end up going to jail under that. There is also the possibility of a retrial.
Laws in the US don't really mean shit, as long as you have cash, have the right connections and are deemed White enough..
