Regarding AI, are we heading towards a future where we won’t know what’s real anymore?

I’m afraid we are. Already I’m seeing things in the news that looks real as could be and yet so false. I’d say in 5 years or less we won’t know which way is up.

Back then they were saying "all brick and mortar stores will close! You will only be able to buy online! The devils mark will be your credit card, as only someone with a credit card will be able to buy" and similar hogwash.

AI is no different. The drama and hype will pass in a year or so, as people realise it's nothing much. Too many people with money got involved, and sold a story to attract other people with money. Just like what happened with the dot com bust.

There is very little value in current AI. It costs billions but its value is only in thousands. Hence why the Chinese are able to do it better and cheaper.

Isn't that the whole point of AI? Politicians can rewrite history, create negative images of other countries, promote themselves and mask their misdoings.

If you have videos of Putin buying weapons from Martians that are as realistic as ones of Trump cheating on his wife, what do we trust?

Yes I love watching cat videos but I’m starting to question how real they are now. Obviously a cat dancing on two legs with his front paws in the air like he don’t just care is not legit but I’m really starting to hate AI. I fear it will get worse.

already happened. the news that we expected- to verify reports -did not verify just accused "a hospital in gaza got bombed by is rel. " people assumed the report was checked and believed until the news APOLOGIZED.

We are heading towards a synthetic reality. We have arrived. It may be in its infancy but objective reality is definitely being replaced with fake information at a furious pace already.
