according to the associated press, which is least biased news source there is, Trump closed the Kennedy center to make safety fixes to it and because of the upgrades Trump wanted to add his name to it. The only reason this rumor was made about the Kennedy center that Trump wanted it ripped down was because it was said that if the center couldn't be fixed to meet safety standards it might have to be torn down. The adding of Trumps name was blocked.
Sure, it became absolutely unsafe within hours of him being told he couldn't put his name on it.
it was unsafe to begin with, that's why it was shut down for repairs, you have to do some deconstruction before you can rebuild. sometimes you can't do what you need to do to make it up to standard, or it's so expensive its beyond reason to fix.
Was it so unsafe yesterday that it should have been closed? Last week, even? Or when the case went to court, months ago?

The Kennedys took Trumps name off the building out of spite. Trump was trying to save it.
The courts ruled that only Congress could change the name. That's absolutely not the same thing.

too bad all the donors that President Trump lined up to renovate the building have pulled their funding. The ceiling is falling down and there is plumbing and foundation issues that need to be fixed too. The building had to be shuttered and unless the Kennedys want to pay for it it will most like stay that way, I guess they really showed President Trump.

That's the point of monuments, to keep the names of people who have done great things alive after they're dead.
Trump knows nobody is going to do that for him.
You do realize that John F Kennedy was assassinated in the early/mid 1960's, while he was president, while he was in Dallas TX in a motorcade? His youngest brother died in 2009. JFK's son died in a plane crash in 1999, JFK's other brother was assassinated trying to run for president in 1968, Bobby Kennedy.
