Does size really matter?

Question

I'm a really curvy girl, and about 10 or 15 pounds overweight. It really annoys me because some people brow beat you if you have a little extra weight, but I honestly don't think that a stone will kill me. I'm about 5'7.5, so my weight is pretty evenly distributed, so I don't have a gut or anything like that, but I consider myself to be kind of curvy. I mean I have hips, and a bust and I fill out my frame so I wonder if that would put off a guy. One of my friends said that he wouldn't date a girl that was bigger than him and I had to admit I kept checking to see if my frame match up with the guy I like. He's got a really athletic/average build from what I've seen and he's taller than me and I don't think proportion wise his smaller than me, but I'm so paranoid that he might hesitate liking me because of my shape.

Guys, have you every stopped showing interest in a guy because of her shape or size? Girls, have you ever thought you were too curvy, or thin, or overweight to physically mesh with a guy?

The question isn't if any of us has stopped showing interest in someone because of their looks. It's rather the fact that some of us don't even start to show interest in those we find not sexual attractive.

This sounds pretty rude / mean / bad / whatever, I know, but this is the truth. Sexual attraction is a huge part in a relationship and a person can be as nice as a person is able to become, but if there is no sexual attraction, then there won't be more than a normal, maybe close, friendship.

But as for who finds what attractive... here is no absolute answer to the question. Attractiveness can be grown through personal affection, too. But it's more difficult than if you are "attractive" going by the "common" judgement.

But on a side-note - and I really don't want to be rude or anything - but I'll be open with my process of though on this matter. Now I really don't know how curvy you are or whatever...

I'll be using the term "fat" because it's those kind of people the following is directed at! (It's not directet at a little curvy persons!)

Many of those fat people say they feel good the way they are, but then again they are sorry for not being able to do sports, or they don't like to go to the swimming hall because of others mean comments and all this stuff. And they are uncomfortable sometimes because they don't know how people react to their outer appearance and so they have little self-esteem and are not able to express themselfes sometimes because they are afraid.

And I don't say this out of my thinking, I say this because of certain questions here on this site and from comments, coming from "those kind" of persons. (Again, I'm sorry for my wording, I really don't want to be insulting :( )

Now I ask you, is this true happyness? Is this really feeling good the way they are?

I sincerely doubt this :(

Now this MIGHT be your case, too, but the way you write I don't see it that you fit that niche ;-) But I somehow wanted to write this as a little addition.

Anyways, if you're in to that guy, just let him know.There's nothing more burdening than being uncertain about others feelings if you want them to feel special towards you!

you sound fine. 10-15 pounds may be medically overweight but I doubt anyone is looking at you like OMG she is 15 pounds overweight! as long as you dress right I don't think most people will be able to tell. that's not even an unhealthy amount of weight, just vanity pounds.

im actually overweight by a lot (working on it) and it does affect how I relate to guys. I don't talk to guys or flirt unless they start it first. I just assume most guys are not gonna be attracted to me even though some are anyway. you don't have anything to worry about though, you don't have to be skinny to be hot. I'm really overweight but I'm tall and have a large frame so it doesn't look as bad, but I find skinny guys or muscular guys hit on me more for some reason

I used to feel afraid that a guy wouldn't like my body if he was skinnier than me but then I realized that skinny guys usually like curvy bodies even more. As long as your weights are within 20 pounds of each other it seems fine. I think you're just feeling insecure, but you shouldn't! Guys usually like curves.

As guys get older I believe they see more past physical because as they get older they are looking for a mate in the longer run and they look for pesons with whom they can get along with. I don't like the word fat, I'm thick in all the right places. =]

Yeah... I want my guy to be taller than me, and weigh more... or else I just don't feel attracted, for some reason.  I like to feel small and delicate. :P
