GUYS: What would you think if a girl you like gained 15 pounds?

Question

I was pretty skinny before, but I recently gained 15-20 lbs and it's really taken a toll on my self esteem and social life. I've been avoiding the guys I like at school cause I don't want them to see me fat and I can never think of anything to say when I'm worried about how I look...

So what would you think if a girl you like gained weight? Would it change you feel about her or how attracted you are to her?

I don't think your fat.  Maybe I am a little unusual but that might make you hotter to me.  I am more into sexy woman next door and horny house mom or cleaning lady fantasies than stuck up bitchy supermodels who eat a single carrot stick and a breath mint.   What kind of fun can you have a woman like that.  I mean  would also find curvy lawyers and businesswomen hot too I guess I am saying I am more into girls who look like they came from simpler roots.   I am not saying I am into gluttons but I assume a healthy appetite for food is tied to a healthy appetite for something else...  I don't think I am into a woman who doesn't love and have a craving for some kinda real food maybe its ice cream or hamburgers or pizza or mexican food  or hotdogs lol or something she learned how to cook from her mother.  If she doesn't hunger for something I'd worry she won't really hunger for me.  Plus a few extra pounds make your body soft and squeezable and probably add a little size to your boobs and butt round out your hips, emphasizing your femininity.  Women that are soft to the touch can comfort you are fun to caress and fun to lie on top of.  Notice how I am deliberately sounding like a dog here.  I figured if I try to sound nice you won't even believe me.  Would you possibly let me see a picture of you.  I bet you are hot.  the kind of guys who will lose interest in you over this aren't worth it.  Plenty of guys will still want to go out with you and there are plenty of dogs out there that will stare at your body and just want to have sex with you too.  And at the end of the day personality really is more important.  If you want to be a playboy bunny you gotta look perfect but to go out on some dates and eventually find a good guy to marry you don't need to be perfect.  Nothings changed you are still a woman.  If you said you were 5 4 and 200 pounds I might be saying something different but 5 4 and 135 is not overweight.  Honestly as corny as it sounds confidence is sexy if you carry yourself and you body around knowing you are attractive, aren't too "easy" and sorta just pretend all the guys are crushing on you it will actually happen.  Its weird how that works.

you seem like a nice girl. Honestly, people put on weight differently so It depends where Its at and how much weight. 15 pounds is not bad..especially for you. All guys are different though, I know society wants you to think otherwise but its true. For example  I love a girls smile and eyes and the next guy could love a girls hair and hands lol. Last thing, There a lot of big girls in the world who are with very good looking guys why? because they are extremly confident in who they are. Love yourself first and If the guy you like can't accept you for who you are, swrew them then.

Why does everyone keep saying 110-115 is skinny... It is totally normal... Many people weigh much LESS than that & are very athletic & healthy... Anyways I can not believe how obsesessed some of you GUYS are with WOMANS weight & or bodies.

It is bad enough that girls want t judge them selves based on a number & not there life, but wtf, why are Guys so concerned about HER body & how the he** do you know so much about body numbers anyways. wow.

Everyone is different, so it does not mean you are fat if you go above, & 10 -15 pounds in addition to your normal self, is not a huge deal... If it is cause you are sad,stressed, not-active, being force fed, or eating junk, then you should look into, & try ti fix THOSE things - not the weight... Do you know why you gained weight in the first place?

Everyone else :

It is really sort of disgusting the weigh SOME people are encouraging her to worry about her weight... You just eat up the worry & spit it back out two fold... HOw about how her life is what caused it, what she does about it, & how everything is affected by her being WORRIED (which you all are encouraging) -- NOT her weight. per se.

It is so disrespectful... There is all sorts of misery in the world, do we really have to create more... It really IS a pretty miserable attitude.

I'm not a guy but I have a lot of men friends young and old. That's a pretty good weight for your height and age. I know it seems like you pick up weight but woman do pick up weight as they start getting older.The change could get more attention from guys. Plus guys like  some meat on woman bones better than being a stick. I'm sure guys would like the weight you gained. First of all you should always have confidence, and feel secure about your body. Men like confidence and they like woman who are secure. Take this from an experience person because I went through and still going through the same issue. I got a membership and started working out. I want 2 lose 15 more plbs. I already lost 15. If you gain fat than start working out and change it to lean. Guys do sometimes  act  different after you have gain a lot of weight but in your case you only gained a few lbs that will make you look better. Remember to be confident and you'll see how attracted you are to guys.

You're def not fat! I would just wonder why you gained the weight.. usually a weight gain like that indicates that something is wrong emotionally or physically!... Have you been upset, stressed, etc that caused the weight gain? Anyway, Just because you gained weight does not mean that you are fat now or that you are less sexually appealing to men...it just means that you are bigger than before, so it's gonna be hard for you to be satisfied at the weight you're at! If you have been eating a lot more than you used to, then you should probably try to cut back and your body weight will even out to what it's meant to be! The funny thing is, your body is probably more womanly now that you gained a little (boobs/butt), which men find sexy.. I say get out there and see what kind of response you get from men.. you might be surprised!

Which means the answer is yes, we would be less attracted to you than before. Its relative. To get the number divide the size of your waist by the size of your hips. For example, Jennifer Lopez is 86-58-87 cm, so her WHR is 58/87 or 0.67. For women, a high WHR, like 0.80, means they look more like a MAN. A low WHR, like 0.65, gives them a womanly hourglass figure.

I would say "let's see how you gained the weight"

I know some girls who are as short as you and weigh as much as you and have RIDICULOUS bodies. They're curvy and meaty (not in a fat way, like an athletic way) and have amazing legs

I also know some girls as short as you and weigh as much as you and they look pretty out of shape. And hey, maybe you looked too skinny for your frame before so you looked lanky. You may have just filled out.

I will say that I really value girls who care about their looks because I'm one of the few guys who really cares about his. I work out 5 days a week and don't drink or smoke, I like to stay really healthy so I can compete and I would want someone who carries the same morals as I do about these things. So if it looks like you gained the weight because you let some other things get to you in your life and I knew enough of the story that it painted a bad picture of you, I may find it pretty unattractive. Or maybe you gained the weight because you felt unhealthy and go to the gym and get fit but without a certain number in mind. I might think you are smoking hot now.

But really until I get some awareness on what you actually look like with the new weight, the number means nothing. The number alone doesn't mean as much as the balance in the way you gained it and the reasons that motivated the gain

Personally, I don't care about a persons size, its their personality that really counts, try not to feel self conscious, a few of my friends and a lot bigger than you and their awsome people! nobody notices their weight because their lust for life and humour completely overshadows it! Just act as you normally would, the more you let the way you look control you the more others will notice and judge you because of it. There are also steps you can take to get thinner, exersizing, eating healthy etc.

it's all about taking care of yourself.  dress well and eat well and guys will see that are taking care of yourself.  trust me it goes a long way.  don't obsess over it, but just take care of yourself.  I used to be over weight, 6'2, 230 pounds.  it wasn't even that noticeable until I took my shirt off.  then I started going to the gym and eating right, & now I have the body I've always wanted.  If you want something in life, you have to earn it.  If you want to have a nice body, get up and work for it.  one of the biggest turn offs for guys is a girl who thinks everyone's out to get her.  guys hate drama, we'd rather not deal with it.

This just happened to me too, I never gained any weight in HS and recently turned 21 so I'm drinking more, and gained the same weight. It is a struggle, I feel as though my husband would never say anything derogatory about it, but he sees it. I've been eating better and am now down to 125, I was 130, all in HS and after I weighed 115. Also, I take a lot of vitamins. be healthy :)

Don't worry about what a guy thinks and feelS about you .The question is  how do you really feel are you happy with the way you look do you feel confident about yourself,and who you are 15 lbs less or 15 lbs more?don't worry hunney  and 130 135 lbs is good weight for your height.always put you before anyone. first because really ur the only one that matters when it comes to ur body and mind.I Nearly lost my life to anorexia nervosa a few years ago, worrying about my weight and what my boyfriend thought.when I woke up from my comma in the ICU The first thing I asked for waS Food. I Would look at healthy girls walk by room and Wished I was healthy like them not Weighting 53 lbs and literately a human vegetable.I'm one the lucky ones even though I now have a heart disease. I wouldn't care for the most part.  I'm 5'5" and weigh 150 lbs so it's fine.  It depends on how you gained the weight though.  If you haven't been eating as healthy then that's not good.  If you had a period of depression or started taking a new medication (like certain birth control pills) that makes you gain weight then I think it is understandable.

It would not change how I feel about her. It's happened before as well. But as for my advice to you, I'd say there are a few things you could do about your recent weight gain. Maybe it's suppose to be your natural weight, who knows. But if your eating unhealthy, and not exercising, then you know you should be doing things a little different from now on.

I think it depends on what your weight was before. I recently gained 10-15lbs, and I've had people tell me I look better now, and was too skinny before lol. If you really don't feel like the weight looks good on you you could always try to lose it. Join a gym, go to a yoga class, ride your bike, eat less junk, etc. :)

K no offence to these other question answerers but mostly they are saying "if you don't like it lose the weight"...Losing weight isn't easy. I've had to lose 20 to fit into my dress for a special even and its A LOT easier said then done.

Honestly, when I was with my girlfriend, she broke up with me just so you know, I liked her at 140 pounds, yes she did weigh that much, at the same height as you. She looked fine, I liked her personality more then her body, she still turned me on and such. But I have to say, you have to like yourself before anybody can like you. The right guy will accept you for who you are, and not the scale number.

I have noticed that there are two types of people.  People that are cute when bigger that are cute when skinnier, and people who are ugly when bigger but cute when skinnier. The answer is to stop worrying about the weight you've gained by just losing it. There will be some guys that will have a problem with you gaining weight and some who won't, but better just to lose it and avoid the issue entirely.

It all depends on how skinny you were before you put on that extra weight.  Some girls can carry twenty pounds overweight and still look good most can't.  If it bothers you that much, then lose the weight.
