Too much of a gentleman to cross any boundaries/make a move?

The guy I like is really sweet and also pretty shy. He's very much a gentleman when we go out (opening doors, paying for everything, letting me wear his gloves) but at the same time he doesn't make any real moves. I was talking to a mutual friend and she said he's too much of a gentleman to make the first move. What can I do to encourage him or even to make the first move myself?

We do flirt a bit and he's bought me some nice gifts and I can see that he does like me but it's very possible he's scared I'll reject him or that he doesn't want to make me uncomfortable.

Girl, it sounds like you have quite a catch there. He's charming, he's sweet, he's polite, he's respectful, he's thoughtful. Sounds perfect! Maybe he doesn't want to make a move precisely because he's a great guy. Maybe he's unsure how you will react, maybe he thinks you might get upset, or maybe he's just shy.

Perhaps it's time to take some responsibility for the future of this relationship, and make a move on him that shows how you feel? He's made it pretty obvious that he likes you - so perhaps it's time to make life a little easier for him since you feel the same way? It doesn't have to be aggressive - you could just give him a smile and take his hand. I'm willing to bet that with a tiny bit of physical encouragement like that, he's more than willing to make a move for more!

How do YOU make the first move?

I don't know, how would you do that?

Try this; as your walking after dinner, or whatever, grab him by the arms, push into a wall, and kiss him.

That ought to qualify as a first move.

well the answer is really simply; if you know he likes you then you can make a move without having to fear that he rejects you :)

he's not seeing a definite green light from you (even if you're showing one) and because he's shy he's not moving. maybe invade his space and smile at him.
