No, not at all! I used the phrase "the ungettable" because to me, that's what this situation seems like.

Well I couldn't really tell from your post why you like him other than he is ungettable...but if you really like him because you think he'll be a great guy, why not just try to talk to him? Guys like him probably get offers a lot so if you only have looks to offer, then he probably won't think of you as anything out of the ordinary. Just try developing a friendship with him. Be real.

A model type guy was in one of my classes and he showed an interest in me (I'm really shy, girl next door, whatever) and he could probably have many other prettier girls...but they only saw his attractiveness and never anything beyond that. He liked me because I was able to talk to him easily like a friend and I was honest and real with him (even told him when he was doing something stupid or making a mistake, which other girls don't point out); I wasn't panting over his good looks.

I understand, I probably should have been more clear.

This guy is incredibly funny and still really intelligent. But he's not afraid to goof off when he just wants to have fun. He's really good looking, a little on the skinny side, and really tan. I have had conversations with him...nothing notable.

When I find someone I REALLY like, I get a little flabbergasted. I never know what to do. It's totally easy for me to talk to anyone else--friends, people I don't like--but to talk to him...

And in class, if there is any free time that I could possibly be talking to him, he's usually talking to someone else or joking around with one of his guy friends, and I don't really know what to say anyway. It's a really unusual situation for me.

What's weird, and I hadn't thought of this before, but guys usually like me first instead of the other way around. And these are guys I'm not interested in at all. So I end up turning them down--What I'm saying is I haven't pursued someone with success

Hm...it sounds to me like you are more infatuated "from afar." Maybe you have even idealized him a little in your mind. Remember, he's just a guy, just some guy that you like; he's not any better or any worse than other guys, he's just a guy. I have been like this with guys in the past, and when I look back, I wish I could have been more confident; I wish I had taken the initiative, like I wish I had done something brave like walk up to him and say "I like you. A lot."

Actually, I did do that once...I just got him alone and told him I like him and I think he's the greatest guy and that he makes my day every time I see him. He had a huge grin on his face afterwards.

One conversation we had was a little intriguing.

I asked him what he was doing over spring break, and he looked at me and paused and said absolutely nothing. I keep wondering if it was a hint that he wanted to hang out or something? Or something else?
