There's this guy in one of my classes that I've never talked to. One day when he walked into class, I looked up and made eye contact with him. Then later that day, I turned around and we made eye contact again. Then the next day, he started sitting at the table that I sit at, right across from me. I always see him in the halls and he always seems to be around me somewhere. I have been told he is generally quiet but he acts silly and tries to be funny when he's around me. He doesn't have many friends who are girls and the ones he has are all in his youth group. He's really cute and probably knows it because girls are all over him, which I've heard he doesn't like. I only talk to him in class about science and once I struck up a conversation about his band. He always stands really close next to me whenever we work in a group. What is going on? Does he just think I'm cool and wants to be my friend or does he like me? My friends said he never acts this way around them or other girls. What should I do now?
Next time he walks in and smiles at you - get up, soon after, and leave the room to go to the bathroom/whatever, but when you come back, see if he looks for you, then smile at him. Then you know he's paying attention to you, so talk to him. About his band, music, where you've seen bands play, things you've done that are cool to talk about, and that he can relate to. And he saw that you smiled at him and it was welcoming enough for him to switch his seat (I've done that, too). But it is kind of flattering you got to say. He didn't go sit next to some other girl, so go for it. See what he does in his spare time and hang out; go watch his band play - he's probably waiting for you to ask about that some more. Good Luck!
Just because he doesn't like it when girls are all over him, talking is a good thing to do. Even if you think you shouldn't, just try starting a conversation about something he likes to do.
If he's in any extracurricular things ask him about them.
