The main thing you can do is exercise and diet well atm I'm eating little to no carbs as I'm trying to become more lean and this seams to be working well with constant cardio I run about 6km a day (also do weights but that is to become more defined) and have been loosing weight from my whole body you can't target to loose weight in specific region. You can only tone or build muscle in a specific region but fat loss on a precise area of your body is not possible even by doing crunches or other abb workouts. By doing abb workouts or other stomach workouts you can only tone an increase muscle but to create a flat/lean stomach cardio is a must and the more cardio and strict your diet is the faster your results. This is all what if found from personal experience so I don't know if it works for everyone.
The thing is that there is really no way to lose fat from particular areas of your body. Spot reduction is a myth that's been refuted by trainers for years, and it's actually because of the generally misinformed public that this rumor continues to spread.
The thing is that fat will naturally reside in certain parts of your body, this is a genetic predisposition that you have no control over.
My suggestion would be a proper diet and exercise regimen. Work on strength training with resistance bands or weights. Go online and find a beginners guide to a full-body strength-training regimen made specifically for women. Don't focus on exercises that target just certain parts of the body, you want to develop all your muscles so that they grow proportionally. What's the point of a firm stomach with chicken legs?
With that said, strength training doesn't specifically mean just lifting weights, it means lifting weights or using bands that provide enough resistance for your to only be able to successfully complete 10 to 15 reps continuously. So don't grab the 2.5 lb dumbbells and start doing 8 reps of 20 curls.
Yes, you CAN do aerobic exercise, it will still work any type of exercise does. It's just not as fast and effective as strength training and doesn't provide as many benefits either.
Finally, Schneiderman is right, drink a lot of water.
I agree that there isn't a specific exercise that is going to work for everyone the same way, and get the same results. If I had that answer I'd be making a lot of money, lol.
But there is a lot of info in magazines like Mens/Womens health and fitness, and everyone has a home-made video of there super workout secrets on youtube, lol, but some are pretty good, and can help you get some ideas for new exercises. Use the internet to your advantage, right.
But if you work the areas around the problem areas that should start your toning process. Like working out and concentrating on your legs and glutes/butt and and back will help make you burn more calories when you work on your core because when the other areas are use to doing more work/exercise you should be able to more work on your core (love handles and lower stomach). And it will help burn some of the empty calories around there first.
Cardio and light weight training/resistance workout's would be good. And try not to get stuck doing the same exercises over and over again, you want to do different ones and have the muscles get targeted from an all around aspect. Like, you don't just want to concentrate on one thing and say "I'll run everyday;" I mean you can, but you are going to target the same muscles in the same way vs something like taking up dancing or tennis or hiking/whatever. Things like this you don't have to be good at to do for exercise and the more you do something new, the better you get at it. And they're versatile exercises (target a lot of areas). If you plan on going to a gym, you can ask people what they do, too. Or just watch what machines and exercises they do. And a combination of exercises is what I do. I'll use a treadmill and a rowing machine and bench press and pull ups if I wanted to concentrate on my chest/something like that. And after about three weeks of doing the same exercises, I'd start to change up my routine. But that's what I'm used to doing/what works best for me. You'll find some kind of groove usually with working out and you'll learn what limits you feel comfortable pushing yourself too. And I usually work out in steps, start light and build up and end light.
no exercising can specifically target your mid section to reduce fat. diet exercise are all you can do. there is no such thing as spot fat loss.
how ever if you do stomach exercises and increase your muscle mass they will help.
crunches are you best bet. there are a few other exercises you can do around your mid section. if you tone and tighten these muscles it will help a bit till you loose the excess weight
Exactly, tightening up those muscles can pull that in a little so it LOOKS better, but it won't get rid of the fat unfortunately. If only it were so easy, lol. - 7 months ago
To lose any type of body fat, Your best bet is: Cardio workouts such as a jog, swim, aerobics class, or run on a treadmill will help you melt away the fat. The main thing to remember about weight loss cardio workouts is that they should be 20-30 minutes in duration, 3-4 times a week. Side bends, torso twists and hip extensions are great to help tone the muscles around the waist and hip area. Trunk rotations and squats will also help. In whole though, you have to control your diet. If you do everything from cardio to toning of muscle but don't caution yourself on your diet - it won't work.
I have this problem too after having 2 kids and I will tell you that it's not easy! You can do various types of ab exercises (crunches are better than situps and I do a variety to hit all the different muscles not just the upper abs) to tighten up your tummy but that doesn't do much to get rid of the fat. Rather than specific exercises, the best way to lose that weight is to do sustained, moderate exercise. For example walking. You have to do it for a while though. I believe it was longer than 20-30 minutes but I forget for sure because usually I always walk for at least an hour when I can find the time to do it. This type of exercise is better than strenuous exercise which usually can't be sustained as long. If you can combine a little dieting with the exercising, that will help too. Because the only way to get rid of the fat is to actually LOSE weight a little. You shouldn't need to diet too strictly. Just little stuff like cutting back on sugary drinks, eating smaller portions, healthier snacks, etc. I started out pretty much just doing the diet shakes for breakfast and started seeing results even just with that. Those usually have something in them to help with appetite suppression too so they help keep you from snacking a little also. Also, try not to "starve" yourself. A lot of people who diet try to go as long as they can without eating. They wait until they are REALLY hungry. Then when they finally eat, they eat more than they should. But at the same time, don't eat every time you get the least bit hungry, lol. Wait until you are hungry enough to eat a light meal but not "starving". Then eat just enough to feel satisfied and that should help. Good luck!
