Nobody asked me to donate blood but I used to donate blood every time the blood mobile came to my work and had to mobile little Mash unit inside.

One year they turned me away because I didn't weigh enough to donate.

But I would like to thank everyone who donates blood because it really is a life saver for people like my son who has had to have blood transfusions several times in his life.

I have type AB so I can only donate blood to other AB people who are universal recipients, so it's unlikely anyone's ever really going to need mine specifically but I used to donate some before covid

When my brother’s wife was pregnant, the hospital asked her to secure five blood donors. I was happy to be one of those donors. I continued donating until i started taking a medication that disqualified me from donating.

Yes, I did it once and was nearly hospitalised. Turns out, if you have naturally low blood pressure, giving blood can be dangerous.
