k, well this is what I have so far for my sweet 16
im going to have it late august, early september and I'm going to rent a big boat with a captain to drive it. I'm planning to go from shediac(new brunswick) to summerside(PEI) and back, which is about 4 hours. I want my theme to be blue, purple black, white and silver. I'm going to have my ipod and make playlists with good music and cds with suggestioins from my friends. I will have a red carpet for when my guests board the boat lined with white lights and a picture-taking place. there will also be vases of red roses for the ladies. my dance floor will be outlines with spotlights and fog machines. there will also be an area set up with chairs for the people who don't wish to dance, set up on upper deck.
any other ideas? any comments?

Update: also, I don't know who to invite and its really freaking me out!

Sounds good so far - don't forget to have loads of good food - people love to eat & dance! Are you having it catered? I suggest lots of fruit & hor d'oeuvre (spelling?) - people love cake too at parties like that! Also, some of the popular things are mini quiches, pigs-in-a-blanket, sparkling cider (since you may not be having champagne because of age), lots of balloons, confetti & make sure people dress properly for the occasion. When it's formal attire, people tend to be a bit more classy about their behavior than if it's informal. Don't forget that even though you are going to be the center of attention, make sure you cater to your guests and it will be a success! Enjoy!
