For those trying to figure this out.there is a trick. No I'm not referring to the AZ Cadinals football team. Simply there are two right answers but who knows what they are and why?

Answer: First of all I'm shocked to see how many votes Dizzy Dean recieved. Don Johnson played for the Yankees in the 1950's. The trick, Whitey Herzog was a manager not necessarily a player.

I know you asked aixela1234 what she thought the answer was so I am assuming you want everyone to go on record with their answer as well as vote. So as not to give away the answer I will say who I didn't vote for I didn't vote for "The Mad Hungarian", "Country", "Whitey" or anyone whose brother's nickname was "Daffy".

Now here is a question for you:

In what year did "Daffy" and his brother lead the Cards to win The World Series. In the 7 games played that year these two brother's got the win in 4 of the 7 games and in the 7th game of the series even pitched an 11-0 shutout.

  1934 against the Tigers. Correct me if I'm wrong please. There is also a trick to the question I first asked. While there are 2 correct answers only one name was never affiliated with the Cardinals and one name; although very linked to Cardinal success, was never actually a player for the Cardinals. What team did the first name play for and what position did the other "player" hold try not to give it away.

  Yes you are correct it was 1934 against the Puddy Tats. As far as your trick goes; ha ha yeah ok I guess a manager or bat boy doesn't play for the team according to conventional standards but if you go by Adam Sandler's definition in the movie The Water Boy they would. Since in the Water Boy "He played water boy real good, everyone who was thirsty got a drink." lol

  I guess you could consider Whitey a player but that's a matter of opinion. Don Johnson was also never a Cardinal, he played for the Yankees in the 1950's. What really has me hung up is how many votes Dizzy has been getting. I'm going to put up a new pole and I bet you that you will probably be the only one to answer it correctly. Did you check out my pole about the Cardinals team name prior to being called the Cardinals?

Actually the Cardinals are kickin ass this year. I guess it's about time they started workin toward actually playing in the Superbowl instead of watching it at home. haha

  I hope you're joking, the Cardinals moved to arizona years ago. We have the Stl. Rams as a football team and the 12 time world series Stl. Cardinals baseball team. You are joking right?

  Sorry but no. Dizzy Dean was a nick name given to former pitcher Jay Hanna Dean. He was part of the 1930's infamous Stl. Cardinals "Gashouse Gang".
