What do you guys think bout girls that are overweight? Does weight really matter?

It depends.

If a person is a bit, to even a moderate amount overweight. but dresses well (No muffin tops) and has confidence and is nice to be around, it won't matter to most guys (from what I've seen anyhow).

That's the thing with guys. We're easy, but because of that, we're not very judgemental. Crudely, if there's breasts, we're more or less happy. By which, sexual attraction with guys is pretty flexible and we tend to be able to find something in most people we like. Throw in a nice personality and we're good to go.

Of note (I've told this story before on this website). In high school the girl that was voted 'most beautiful' wasn't the 'most beautiful' as in sexy... it was actually the 'most beautiful'... a girl who was a little overweight, but very very nice to everyone. And she won in a landslide.

Weight is certainly factored in for me. I wouldn't say it's the most important factor, but it has a major impact depending.

If you have a few extra pounds it says you're comfortable with who you are and that's relaxing and attractive to me. No more or less attractive than if you were fit and toned which would show you had pride in your body and valued your health.

If you're 300 pounds and 5'6" then we have an issue. That much extra weight is a problem. It's not healthy and shows you have low self exsteem, low self respect and a lack of value in your health as a general rule. This is not attractive.

If you're somewhere in between it can certainly be overcome based on your personality and how well we get along.

My observation is that overweight woman tend to be outgoing and really enjoying their lives, so I am all for a woman with a robust appetite, even if she isn't physically attractive. In due course the pounds will come off, but I'd rather a woman be happy and 300 lbs than a neurotic, vain, bitchy 120 lb woman with a pathological relationship with God's great gift, food.

Yes. Infactically, Yes.

Weight does matter, both ways. Over thin is just as bad as being fat.

There is a "healthy" weight and we are instinctively tuned to watch for it.

Its not hard (natually speaking) to stay at our own healthy weight, but often the pressures of society have us fluctuate one way or another.

I like girls that are moderate, but most of all, that are natural.  If you live like everyone else, and you're still extremely skinny, that is fine.  I'm attracted to women that have a little meat on them, because it indicates to me that they don't sacrifice a lot just for image (which to me seems shallow), and that they are healthy.

To be honest if a girl is overweight that pretty much takes them out of my dating possibility but that doesn't mean I'm going to treat them like crap.  So to me, yes weight does matter.

It shouldn't, but it often does. You attract people by the qualities you display.  You retain them by the qualities you posses. Some people don't get past the display part. Ted
