When he asks for time does it sometimes mean he just needs some time to think or does it mean something else? Because he told me he just needs time but he loves me and wants to be with me just wants to find out if we are right for eachother. Please give me some advice.

In other words breaks depends on the person. Some it could mean hey I want to try new pussy but don't want to cheat so I'm giving you respect. Or could mean he needs time to his self. Only you can make that judgment you know the guy. I mean I went on a break with a girl because I was given advice that's what I should do to help her and waited but she freaked out and went back with her x it didn't work out lol. But I didn't see other girls I waited. But hey. Now my x before that when we broke up I would bang someone else but then got back with her because I didn't love the other girls, but then after a while it got old and I realized love isn't enough to make me happy, I need more compatability and understanding and someone who can communicate better. I'm sure he loves you but wants to see if he can get a better girl with out breaking the rules of commitment. But if he really loves you he will come back and from then on the communication and coming to a mutual understanding will be the only thing that will make the relationship or break it. But you can't blame someone for wanting to be sure. My ex didn't want to compromise and help me and understand and communicate so I had to finally put it to a end, but we are good friends, I just know that she won't change so I can't be with her even tho I still love her because I won't be happy and won't be able to live the life I want because we have different goals in life. Good?

When a guy asks for time, it's normally one of two things:

1.) You are too involved in his life. He needs his space.
2.) He wants to meet other women

When I say "meet other women," I don't mean that he is tired of you, or wants you gone, he just needs some time to figure out what he wants. You're young and, frankly, there is no reason stick around with someone who you are unsure about.

I would say to let him go and find what he wants. If you truly love him, you'll do this, and if he truly loves you, he'll come back.

This is one of those situations where though this won't be the answer you want, quite honestly only he knows the answer to this.

"I need time" is such a vague request that can have many different meanings.

I don't really care for reading into what others are thinking by their statements when I wasn't the one actually having the conversation as body language says a lot.

But - From the sounds of things I'm going to go out on a limb here and state that it sounds like he's confused, unsure perhaps is even a good word here?

To tell someone I love you, I want to be with you BUT I need to find out if we are right for each other. Quite honestly comes across as someone that is experiencing a multitude of emotions that which he really needs to sort out.

Again, I wasn't the one that had the conversation with this individual so I could be way off - but I think what he may have meant was "I care about you as a person, I'm just not sure if we are as compatible as we once thought we were"

If my translation is accurate, LOL (big if here) Then I would say that by phrasing it the way he did, he wants to be sure about his feelings for you and doesn't want to rush to a final answer. He obviously cares about you, he's just unsure as to what extent. Does it go beyond a friendship, or is it true that in the long run you two aren't as compatible as you once thought? - By stating he still wants to be with you, he now has that much needed sense of security (so to speak) in that he knows once he sorts through his confusion, if it turns out that indeed he does love you and feels a strong sense of compatibility - you will still be there.

If not, well then at least he was able to truly come to the decision, and then he could relay his feelings to you and know that it was well thought out and that he has made the right decision.

But again, I could be way off :o)
