Is he doing it on-purpose? does it mean anything?

I've been seeing someone in university now for a couple months, and it isn't a perfect relationship by any means. Right at this point in our psuedo-non-relationship I actually feel kinda crappy cause he's been sort of ignoring me/increasing space between us (he said he was tired and busy with school but.I feel it might be more than that). If you wanna read a huge thing about this you can read my other question =P

but anyway, my question isn't about our relationship exactly:

A couple weeks ago he gave me one of his sweaters, that he hardly ever wears, cause I was cold. I brought it to my room and ended up wearing it basically every night (cause our dorm is so freezing cold at night, and I just like wearing it cause it's his).

So a week ago I returned it to him and told him he should probably wash it before he wears it. and he asked me why.
I didn't want him to get weirded out that I wore it every night so I just told him I wore it a lot in my dorm cause it's cold. And he was like "oh ok, I'm sure it's fine.". and I was like "umm.I wore it.A LOT". haha. but he still said he wouldn't need to wash it.

Right after I gave it back to him I noticed that he started wearing it every day (or if not every day than at least every day that I saw him). I didn't think anything of this because he's definitely NOT the sentimental/romantic type.
but then.he's STILL wearing it every day, even after Saturday night when he sort of rejected me and told me he was too tired to hang out.

But.could this mean something?
I know if I did that then I'd definitely be doing it on-purpose and it would mean something to me.
But do guys not think this way?

And a more general question;
do guys usually do things like this on-purpose as little ways to show how they feel? or do girls just read way too much into everything.

Update: uhhm don't think it meant anything.
I went to talk to him yesterday and we mutually broke up =P
