4 dThe train ticket is okay, but Motel 6 is too cheap to see someone. He should at least be able to afford a Ramada Inn.
If you do go see him at the Motel 6, be sure to leave the light on. 😎

He's either looking to bang you in some "no strings attached" scenario OR he's aiming to create a crime scene. Should you thank your lucky stars the guy thinks so little of you that he's taking you to a motel that has "by the hour" rates? I think you know the answer.

Fancy may not matter but safe and clean matter. Motel 6's do not tend to be in the high rent district. Nor do they have secure parking garages or security staff. Fort Worth has plenty of better hotel chains and luxury hotels to choose from.
If I'm travelling by myself I'll stay almost anywhere. The room and a bath closest to the highway off ramp and a gas station is fine. Because I'm probably focused on minimizing my time spent in the car. But If I have a woman travelling with me I suddenly start to care a lot more about the accommodations and things like security. Not to impress her. To make her feel safe and relaxed. - 2 d
@OneViewpoint that isn’t an aspect I considered, but definitely agree with. With the last bit you wrote, I think that speaks a lot more to your character than his. You care about the woman’s overall safety and taking into consideration things that any good dude would, like safe hotels, not always the cost efficient or fancy option. To me, this says he may not be such a good guy. He’s mainly concerned with sticking her any place, so long as he’s able to get what he wants, which seems to be the priority above her safety. I hope OP reads this and takes it into consideration. Even if this is a casual hookup, at least let it be with a man who cares about her wellbeing.

Good points were made. Thank you!
4.6K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Motel 6 is a hit or miss on whether it’s decent or not , I take it this guy is just trying to get laid , if he isn’t really trying to impress you , and got you a room at a much nicer hotel. Did you meet this guy online? Be safe

You don’t need to be “grateful” for something that makes you uncomfortable. Motel 6 isn’t automatically bad, but effort matters. If he can afford better and chose bare minimum for a first visit, that’s a clue.

3 dDon't hesitate to tell him that you're uncomfortable with the Motel 6 plan.
I'm sure he didn't pre-pay that booking.
Suggest accommodations that are more appealing, safer and reasonably priced.
If he insists on the Motel 6, I'd consider that a flag.

3 dman Motel 6 is a major red flag.
I stayed at one for a night in 2021 and aside from that motel being cheap, falling apart with a bed that felt like concrete at the time I went they were giving shelter to some crackhead bums.
I remember one of them knocked on my door 3 times pretending that she thought I was someone she was looking for. she had nightwalker written all over her02 Reply- 2 d

11.2K opinions shared on Relationships topic. That’s very cheap transportation and one of the cheapest motels in the USA I don’t know how big of a thing that is. Are they really that safe anyway for a woman alone? all somebody’s gotta do is just kick the door in and they’ve got you. some late night trucker coming in off the interstate late at night at midnight and you’re all by yourself alone no way
13 Reply- 4 d
That’s true. Never thought of that.
4 dDo you need a Ritz-Carlton? Go buy yourself a fancier room and tell him to cancel it if it bothers you that much.
43 Reply- 4 d
Thanks! I was just trying to see if that meant if he thought of me as low value is all lol

He got you a train ticket and a motel. Sure, it isn't fancy but he really didn't need to do it all in his own. I wouldn't overanalyze it.
- 4 d
Got it. Thanks!
Anonymous(25-29)4 dI guess it was thoughtful. I would have choose at least a mid tier hotel, or I would have invited her to stay at my home. I would make sure there is no pressure to sleep with me. Personally, I'd rather sleep in my car than a motel, but I have experience with that.

4 dThe Motel 6 is bottom of the barrel but in some areas of the country that may be the only thing available within a reasonable distance. For example a small town in South Carolina or West Texas.

Well it’s in, Fort Worth TX

Ha, my hometown. Fort Worth and Dallas certainly have plenty of options other than a Motel 6. The Sinclair downtown on Main Street in Fort Worth is nice. Rooftop bar. Nice views as Fort Worth goes.
The Four Seasons near the DFW airport is great.

A train ticket AND hotel room in this economy? He may not be the man of your dreams, but he's surely worthy of a reward...

I assume that's what he could afford. No drama. 🤷♀️

Some of them aren’t bad at all. They’re basically budget hotels (despite the name)
