Ex boyfriend wants to hang on Valentine's day?

My ex boyfriend has asked me if I want to hang out on Valentine's Day. He broke up with me and has been arranging his new life without me. How likely is it that he is wanting to be with me because, I don't want to string myself along here...? Thank you for your advice!

Did he say "do you want to hang out on Valentines day?" or "do you want to hang out next Tuesday?" Because he might not be aware it's Valentines day. If he said Valentines day he might be thinking about getting together, if he wasn't interested in being with you he wouldn't want you to get the wrong idea.

still doesn't mean he doesn't acknowledge what the holiday represents, if everyone was wearing red and you were wearing green, some people will try to blend in for different reasons which are almost similar to each other, same thing here.
