Valentine's Day Ideas

A few days left for one of the biggest and much hyped days of the year; The Valentine’s Day. Many people, including friends, celebrate the day out of obligation rather than celebration. With any big occasion comes lots of ideas, some of which you think are old, cliché, boring and others very unique and creative. Sometimes the simplest could be the most creative of the ideas. While ideas for Valentine’s Day range most times it is the thought that counts.

A friend always complained about how materialized Valentine’s Day has become over the years and his new girlfriend at the time, knowing about his views, did not do or demand anything special and instead they watched a movie at home after a quite normal dinner. He knew after that night that she was worth every effort to hold onto. Even more, he made efforts to remember the littlest things that mattered to her so that he could use those ideas for other similar special days. Needless to say, they are a happily married couple now for several years. Little did she know that a small gesture she did would make such a big impact on him.

If you don’t have simple ideas that would make a big impact, use the unmistakable, proven ideas like flowers, a gift and a date and you will pass this year’s Valentine’s Day Idea project with flying colors, until next time. The most important aspect of all things Valentine's Day is not price but thoughtfulness and creativity so don’t be a robot and do something everyone else does but add your own twist to it.

Valentine's Day Dinner for Two
Make a reservation to a new restaurant in town or show your culinary skills with a thoughtful and romantic dinner. Whether you stay in or go out, make an effort and show her that she is special.

A Valentine’s Day Scavenger Hunt
Use creative clues surrounding all things Valentine for a classic Valentine Scavenger Hunt that she would find intriguing. The clues could include anything from the places you went together to the music she likes.

Homemade Valentine's Day Card Ideas
Homemade Valentine's Day cards are as touching as they are unique. Cards from stores, though full of poetic waxing, can be impersonal and old. A homemade card speaks volumes about the care and effort that went into making it. Use memorable pictures from a night out in town or from a vacation and her favorite quotes instead of the cheesy rhymes in commercial cards. Not to advertise or anything, there is a site called mypublisher.com that offers photo albums that you create.

Massage Night
Offer her a massage session for her Valentine’s Day Gift. If you have no clue what you are doing, read a couple of articles, learn some tips and tricks from any website on the subject and you will be a pro before you even realize. Of course, add your touch to it with this gift as well and offer her more than a massage therapist and make it a bit more sensual. This is actually a gift you can offer with your own touch, literally, so don’t pass on.

Only-For-Her Special Gift Cards for Valentine’s Day
If you are completely broke, get a dozen piece of paper -could be postcards, index cards, stickers or post-its- and come up with a list of things you could do for her over time and write one on each paper. And she could redeem these cards whenever she wants. For example, a hand, feet, scalp or a full body massage, a lunch, breakfast or a dinner, a chick-flick or a musical, washing her car or truck or anything else you can think of that you could do for her. You could even put these on the back of a photo for added creativity. And if I were you, I would add a disclaimer with fine print that only one coupon could be redeemed per day.

Whichever you choose for your Valentine’s Day Idea, remember to keep it simple and to add your personal touch.
