I suppose it's better than 18 and 13 or whatever but..I'm also wondering if 5 years really matters when it comes to early to late 20's. Should I even try?

Nah, I don't think it's a big deal as long as you're compatible as far as maturity level goes. You may even have different levels of life experience, be in totally different places in life independently of each other, but manage to work well together regardless. I'm 22 now, but I was 21 when I got with my ex, and he was 27. It didn't work out, but it didn't have anything to do with our age difference. The guy I'm currently kind of seeing is older too, older than my ex, at 31. And so far things are working well. We're kind of at the same place in life right now and have similar future hopes/goals both in life and in a partner. I can be mature enough to be on his level, but he can dial it down and be silly and immature with me as well when the mood suits it. =] So far, so good. Don't write anything off just yet based on age difference alone. I don't think 5 years is that much difference when people are in their 20s, personally. Not for most people anyway.0
