hey I'm in high school and since I'm Indian I m getting chest hair haha well anyways I had always thought chest hair was an indication of manliness and was attractive so I d sometimes unbutton an extra button down from my dress shirt but surprisingly the girls say "eww chest hair". I don't get it and said I shoud shave it. I don't get it why would they want me to shave my CHEST. I'm a guy.. like I understand armpits, face, and trimming pubes because I do that but chest? what's the reason girls don't like chest hair?
I like it but I am older and of a generation that liked it. Think Burt Reynolds. So, guess what, the pendulum may be swinging back in the other direction again. I heard a study today that said women are over the metrosexual look with their men over-waxed. They want men who look like men because in this economy women are back to wanting a guy who has the appearance of being able to take care of them, you know, manly.
Now at your age this doesn't necessarily apply but what happens is that tastes change in young adults and that will drive tastes changing in your generation.
While there are some women who love chest hair and some who hate it, it could be your age group. You're only 16, so I assume you're hanging out with girls your age. I'm more inclined to say that girls at that age aren't big fans of chest hair yet. They prefer to see hairless chests because that's what the media is pushing in their faces. Also, most boys at your age don't have much chest hair yet, so that could also be a factor.
Personally, I love chest hair because it's a sign of manliness.
I think it's gross if guys DON'T have chest hair personally, they look like little boys and just ew. And I'm basically the same age as you. So I guess it depends on the girl. And the media, like everybody else has mentioned. You could try trimming it, I'm sure shaving would be uncomfortable and the stubble and the daily hassle would just get tedious... but you can also ignore the girl's comments because a) she probably isn't mature enough to want a manly man, just a cute guy on her arm and b) judgement is an inevitable fact of life and you should always do what YOU think you're most comfortable for YOU.
Honestly, I think body hair (especially chest hair) looks like pubes. And that's not attractive. No, I don't think you should shave your chest though because that's just to feminine. You're a man you're supposed to be hairy. Just make sure you keep it under control and clean and you'll be good =]. BUT, there are women who LOVE chest hair by the way.
It's because most of the time all the hot shirtless guys on tv have ther hair shaved off so that's what young people are used to.. I personally like a bit of chest hair but I don't like a huge rug of it so I think trimming it back looks better. Don't shave it though because that is really uncomfortable against a girls body when you have stubble (my ex used to do that)
It's not that we don't like chest hair, but for me personally, I hate when guys try to show off like that. It's not attractive for a guy to unbutton his shirt a little bit, then the hair just looks tacky, no offense.
We are girls..we like neat and clean. Its not that chest hair is so unattractive but I must say it is not cute to broadcast it on front by going to the extreme of unbuttoning your shirt to let us stare at. A little is much better than alot. But I typically can do without it PERIOD, however if it is his preference to have it..keep it clean and well groomed..don't become a lion, tiger or bear with it!
Young girls are just weird lol. I'm 25 and I like it. It means I'm dating a man, not a boy.
I personally don't like the bear look at all.Shaven is just super sexy.:)
I like a little bit of hair on guys chests. I don't really like when guys shave their chest usually because it's poking and I think a little bit of hair is masculine. I also don't like if guys shave their legs, armpits of pubic hair... the last one I don't care if it's trimmed but I don't like it all gone. Anyhow I'm not really sure why some girls don't like chest hair. That being said, if you had a lot of it I don't find that attractive. I guess seeing a guy with a ton of chest hair coming out the top of his shirt just reminds me of older men or my dad or something and that's just kinda creepy.so I wouldn't like it if a guy had a ton of chest hair, but honestly it's not that big of a deal.
This to me is a mind f***. Women usualy like older men right? But they want them look more like a child? To me chest hair is something that sperates men from boys just like facial hair. I quite frequantly exercise and do weight lifting as well. Think that would make the ladys like my body but if I take my shirt off to go swimming the first response is eww, or some childish snickering. I have a decent amount of chest hair not a whole lot but a decent amount. This new generation of what is hot seems to be based off of if you can compare to someone in there late teens body. Anything with hair appears to be a turn off now days. I have to think though what would be a bigger turn off, a guy with a little bit of hair on his chest or walking in on a guy as he is rubbing a razor around his nipples lol?
Don't worry about it my man, my fiance doesn't like my chest hair but she still going to marry me. Funny thing... she's marrying me because she loves me.
Women tend to be less picky about looks and the older they get the more they just want a man who treats them good. You're young... you'll be fine. A little chest hair isn't going to get in the way of the right woman for you.
Seriously dude... don't mess with your man mane... don't be that guy.
I understand why some guys do it, but it would suck to be told you have to wax/shave your chest. As long as it's not a forest obviously. I don't mind trimming other body parts (wink wink), but prefer to keep the chest natural.
