Is it weird to compliment fake eyelashes?

ok, I have a little crush for a girl I know, I can't talk to her very often because she works at a different station to me so we don't get to talk much unless I'm finishing work, or she needs a hand with something.

Anyways I caught her coming into work and I wanted to get a conversation going so I said, the usual " did you have a good xmas"?

and she just kinda said yeah it was quiet and nice and she kept on going, and in an effort to get her real attention pointed out she had very large eyelashes( I know, what the hell) just in attempt to get this going with her, she just smiled and said yeah they are fake( I knew they were fake, I just couldn't think of anything else to say that wasn't weird or overly sexual in front of staff)

How would you feel if I made a compliment on your fake eyelashes, would it be weird? lol

the idea was not to make a compliment that everybody says which lacks emotionally impact because she hears it all the time.

I wanted to be special because it came from me, so at least she would remember but I just blurted it out!

when she said they were fake did you say "oh well they look pretty on you" or something? it wouldn't be that awkward unless you didn't respond back haha. because then she might think that you think of her as fake for wearing false lashes. I don't know that's how I would feel though. I don't think it's terrible you mentioned it though, it's like when a guy says he likes your hair and you tell him they're extensions. you kind of hope he doesn't mind and likes how they look anyways.

the fact she said they were fake is good though. she's honest. ;]

haha I think it's nice. It's quite an interesting compliment. From experience, if she was wearing them, she was glad you noticed. It's just like if someone complimented a person on a new sweater or new hair cut. I don't think it's weird. I think any compliment is quite lovely:)

Fake lashes to work? What a loser, she obviously wants attention lol, so you did fine. It's not weird, her attempt to get someone's attention worked. Don't over think it, a lot of girls wear them, but to work?That's odd... maybe she works at a club/bar or something.

I don't think that's strange. The fake eyelashes can look cute on a girl as long as they're not TOO unrealistically huge.

I think any woman that wears fake hair, lashes, nails, boobs, or whatever expects to get one or two people, girl or guy, that compliments her on it. As long as you don't say anything like "I prefer those fake eyelashes to your real ones." Then I think you are fine. I think it's kind of cute that you did compliment her lashes. It means that you were paying attention to her.

(Lol that's cute, about you blurted out about her lashes) however I couldn't imagen a straight guy saying that, I suggest you just complement her hair or clothes or say aww well don't you look pretty, I don't know but make it sound slick ( complementing lashes is a bit girly, I say it nearly everyday)

That wouldn't be the first thing I'd want to have compliment, or the first thing I'd compliment a girl on myself, but if you go about it the right way, it might work... =/

People usually wear false eyelashes to make their eyes look bigger or somehow better and more noticeable. So complimenting her eyes would have been better.

No not at all, I never would lie about wearing them so it nice to have compliments on them, even if someone doesn't realize they are fake I let them know.

No, not really. She probably thought it was really cute. Plus I know it would make me feel good if a guy said that to me considering the fact that many girls can't pull off fake lashes, even if you weren't honest. Don't worry about it.

this reminded me of my past, the guy I loved, he ended up complimented my friends fake hair extensions that were blue...i felt so upset and just annoyed he found her attractive =/
