Who else is JACKED UP for the NFL Draft tonight? Predictions?

Tonight is like my birthday, Christmas, and summer vacation all rolled into one. Hands down my favorite event of the year.

Who is your team? Who do you want them to pick? Who do you think they will pick? Who do you think is the best player in this draft? Who's overrated? Who will go #1 overall? Will the Texans stick-and-pick or trade down? Where will these QBs end up, especially punk-ass Johnny Manziel? Hahaha... So many questions, I have jitters already.

I'm a Pats fan. I'm hoping for a good DT. I hear Ra'shede Hageman a lot, but he's boom or bust. I'd love a safety too, Pryor from Louisville if he's available (he won't be), maybe Deone Buchanan from Washington State. Texas Tech TE Jace Amaro is another name I've heard a lot. I like him, but we can probably get Fiedorowicz from Iowa in round 2. I think Houston stays and takes Clowney at #1 and addresses QB later. Sammy Watkins, I think, is the stud of this draft and will ultimately have the best career. Whoever lands Derek Carr is robbing a bank, that kid is the goods, mark my words. A lot of talk about Johnny Football slipping, but its anyone's guess. The kid is as polarizing as he is electric. I'm not a fan of his as an NFL prospect, but where he goes is anyone's guess. Wouldn't put it past Jerry Jones to sell the farm to land him in Dallas.

Should be a blast tonight. Can't wait!

I definitely am, looking to see who my team is picking up along the draft also interested in who Derek Carr would end up with. Since he is a local guy everyone is all up in his business, he ended up at Oakland, lots of people predicted it and are excited. This is mostly a Raiders fans town, I HATE them, I'm a Chargers fan so I bump heads with people all the time. Some picks have been predictable but also a handful of surprising picks too.

I am excited. two reasons. I'm excited to have all the mock drafts stop coming out daily. I'm also pumped to see the next generation of Eagles rookies. They had really good drafts the last two years under their new GM Howie Roseman

I'd hope the eagles select a safety in the first round and a wide receiver some time in the next two rounds.

Iggles, eh? Either Pryor or Buchanan would definitely make an impact with you guys. There's been a hole since B-Dawk left. Weapon X at one time was my favorite defensive player in the league. Love everything about that guy. Unmatched intensity. Plenty of options at WR to try to replace Desean. I like Marquise Lee out of USC.

agree on most things. I like Dix at safety over all others but almost anything would be an improvement.

It still frustrates me that we cut desean got nothing in return and now have to spend one of our remaining picks (cause we used one to trade for Darren sproles) on another WR. seems like flawed logic but what do I know

Having a guy named Ha-Ha on your team is too sweet to pass up. Yeah, I hear ya. That dude is nothing but problems though. Explosive playmaker, and it REALLY sucks that he stayed in your division, but I still question if he's worth the headache. Hopefully Maclin and Grand Wizard Cooper can shoulder the load for them.

Yeah, that's the risk you run when you sign these guys to huge contracts. If the tide turns and you need to dump them for whatever reason, you're in tough shape, and usually you have to just cut them. I'm stoked the Pats got Revis, but I'm not going to get attached. NO WAY they spend on him long-term. And Seattle just signed Sherman for big money. You know Revised sees that. Gotta take one last run at a title this year with a stacked defense, then hope for the best for the last few years Brady plays. Been one hell of a ride, let me tell you.

You're a Pats fan? lucky you. the last few years have been a bit of a disappointment but they've had an epic run of success over the past 10-12 years

If being in contention every year for over a decade is a disappointment, then I hope I can "disappointed" longer, haha. What a run it's been, just across all sports in Boston in general. I can't believe I'll eventually have to go back being a normal sports fan whose teams suck from time to time, haha. At least it happened during my prime years. It's been an embarrassment of riches for sure though. Everybody hates us now, and no one really cared about us before, haha. Would definitely like one last ring for the Belichick-Brady Regime. Seattle is still the team to beat right now.

HAha, no I know what you meant, I'm joking. I'm glad you respect the skills. We get a lot of hate. No one ever let the Spygate thing go, mostly. I mean, they did it, but it's the most overblown "scandal" in the history of the league. They videotaped defensive signals from the wrong part of the field, that's it. I played ball, we were trying to do that ON the field. Half the tape was cheerleader T and A too, haha. Gotta respect that. My buddy's dad was an NFL position coach at the time and coaches D-1 college now, and he said literally everyone did that, the Pats just got the whistle blown on them by a butthurt Eric mangini. Bill Cowher and Jimmy Johnson are also on record saying that this was common practice. And bottom line, taping one team's signals isn't going to win you championships and have you a contender every year, that's an asinine assumption to make. But it gets real old hearing about it. If we mention the Super Bowls we won, we're hanging on to the past. But Spygate is...

I was furious when the Packers too Ha Ha a pick before us. I know Chip would've snatched him up if he was available. He even said he wanted to come to Philly. Oh well, I think Smith was a reach at 26 (like he would've slid to the 2nd round maybe even our 2nd round pick) but Chip and especially Howie Roseman have had really solid drafts the last few years so it's a wait and see sort of thing

I don't follow college football, so I do things kind of backwards - watch the draft to see who ends up on a team where they'll have the opportunity to make an immediate contribution, and then do a bit of research to see which of those I think are actually any good (incl. worth drafting in fantasy).

Haha, that's fair. I don't see as much college as I'd like. My girl is good about letting me have Sunday to myself during football season, but its tough to ask for Saturday too, haha. I'm definitely not as up on it this year as I usually am. I'm kind of a draft geek.

Wow, respect that dedication. Glad you guys are getting a taste for it across the pond, it's a great game. Do you have a favorite team? I always wonder if everyone is a Jaguars fan over there, it seems like they play in London every year. "Jag-yoo-ars", haha.

Nope, not really a Jag-waahs fan (Cecil Shorts aside). I think they just get sent over here a lot because they can't sell tickets to games in their own stadium.

The NFL's heyday over here was back in the '80s, so the '49ers and Dolphins have the largest UK fanbases - and then the Pats / Steelers / Bears are more popular with newcomers.

Funnily enough, the two teams I always liked (way before their recent successes) were the Ravens and Seahawks. The Ravens purely because I liked their shade of purple, and the Seahawks because I lived by the sea and my name contains the word "hawk" (when you're a little kid who couldn't even place Baltimore or Seattle on a map, I think that's as good a reason as any) - and then when I was older, I was lucky enough to see a couple of games in Seattle, while Shaun Alexander was in his prime :)

I'm very excited...especially to see how the Broncos do. I'm also excited to not have to hear about Johnny Manziel every time I turn on the tv or open up my computer. I love football but feel like all the pre-draft hype is a bit of an overkill. The most amazing part is how all the pundits "rate" each team immediately after the drat, when in all actuality it takes a couple years to rate a draft.

I have never been more sick of anyone's act than Johnny Manziel's. Half of me wants to see him get broken in half. I just don't see him getting away with all the dumb throws he makes that Mike Evans and co were coming down with against the likes of Rice's defense. He'd scramble his ass off, then chuck one up into double or triple coverage. NFL CBs are coming away with that 9 times out of 10.

Definitely true about the knee jerk ratings post-draft too. I get all excited on days like today, then Monday I realize I won't see much of a lot of these guys for 2-3 years.
