no. i think it promotes diversity in the media because it is pretty cool having a leading actress not be a stick thin bombshell sex symbol for once. Mcarthy is a regular looking woman and i think regular looking women deserve to be in the movies too. Hopefully soon we will have some black actresses star in major films that aren't related to slavery, poverty and BET
Mcarthy doesn't promote obesity just because she is obese. Mcdonalds does.

Hmmm, no I don't think so... The whole movie, from what I've seen from trailers, is a mockery of her, her behavior, how she looks. Nobody wants to be Tammy, everyone is laughing -at- her, not -with- her... :( I don't think it promotes obesity, I think it promotes negative attitudes, condescension towards obese individuals- which is not a good thing either.
yea probably. then again all the land-whale monsters are all about their fat acceptance bullshit and it's become like a new cultural fad to pretend to not be disgusted by waddling sacks of blubbery waste
No Melissa McCarthy doesn't promote obesity just because she is obese. Does Jackie chan promote Asian ness because he's Asian
