Taking a bath on your period, disgusting?

Is it okay to take baths on your period? My cramps are really really bad the first night. I'm just saved to take a bath because I don't want to bathe in my own blood.

A regular bath isn't much cleaner, you're sitting in a bunch of water that already has billions of your dead skin cells, body hair, skin oils and such in it. So I don't see how mixing several drops of blood would make it too disgusting.

I've done it. I don't find it gross. I just shower afterward anyway. I always shower after I have a bath, even if I am not on my period because I feel like I am sitting in dirty water even if I am clean. I relax in the bath, and then I shower.

I would suggest taking a cool shower first and then take a warm bath.

No it's fine to take a bath on your period. Besides when you do take a bath (like swimming) the water displaces your blood so it kind of stops flowing. But you can always get a cup or get in the shower and rinse.

Unless you plan on sharing the bath with someone else, I don't see why it matters as to whether or not it's gross.

Baths feel good when cramps are bad. You gotta do what you gotta do.

you could put a hot water bottle on that area. im not sure if its safe to stick a tampon in to take a bath, though I've heard some of my friends talk about sticking a tampon in when they attend swimming lessons, so it might be okay.

My mom's always told me not to bathe on my period. But if it's that bad for you, use a tampon before you step into the tub.
