Healthcare differences between the UK and U. S. A?

I read an interesteing article comparing the differences between between the U. S and UK's approach to healthcare and what it would be like if I were to visit an American hospital/surgery and likewise if you were to come here.

Most of you seem to be American, are you happy with the way things are OR would you prefer an NHS like we have in Britain?

Also if you don't live in these two countries whats the healthcare like where you are from?

here's the link to the article: www.worldwideerc.org/.../1109-marsh.aspx

Can those of you from the U. S. A please tell me the costs of these on average
1) Going to the ER, without and with an ambulance
2) a doctors appointment
3) A scan, MRI, X-ray, ETC.
4) Also an operation to fix a broken bone

When I say the NHS is free, obviously its not, the government pays for it through our taxes and it costs around £110 billion a year - around $185 billion in your money. We just dont get billed for it personally, except eye tests, dentist and drugs
