You could get Hepatitis C, AIDS, loss of skin pigmentation, and you could even get metal poisoning and its dangerous to get an MRI while having a tattoo.

Why do people drive cars even though there's a good amount of problems that you can get with it?

The carcinogens in vehicles are likely to kill you by causing some type of respiratory disease and you have a very high risk for getting in an accident which can kill you.

Why do people use elevators even though there's a risk that you could get trapped in one or die?

Why do people lay in the sun even though there's a risk that you could get skin cancer and die?

There's risks to EVERYTHING. Every single thing you do can kill you. You can't live your life in fear (or you'll get anxiety and die lol) of every possible negative thing that can happen to you. Your chances of getting an STI or metal poisoning aren't that high if you go to a reputable tattoo artist anyway.

1.) because if you look at stats for people who got theirs professionally done i'd be willing to wager this was the minority population
2.) Of this minority population most probably didn't follow aftercare instructions
3.) There are plenty of reputable tattoo places that know what they're doing
4.) Tattoos have a deeper meaning

Because people like and want them.

Professional tattoo artists are subject to strict health and safety regulations.
Yes there is a chance of what you said happening. But the percentage of times it actually happens I feel would be very very low.

People who get tattoos aren't exactly known for thinking about the consequences of their actions, which is why they get tattoos.

I agree I have tattoos and yes i was young when i got them but honestly I love the ones I have even though I really don't want any more.
